Default Could Jesus be returning???

With Katrina hitting and it being the worst natural disaster and the Tsunami 8 months ago, could the end of the world be near??? I just realized that the events that are happening is what the most religious experts say will happen eventually.

Well.. the bible says "no man shall know, but god himself", i think that's the way he wants it to be viewed, which i'm comfortable with. The Native Americans believethat when the white buffalo is born (which has been within the past couple of years) there would be 5 years of chaos that no man has seen, and in an instant peace would come and last a thousand years! I've always been intrigued with that belief.

could those 5 years of chaos have begun on 9-11-01? I mean, so many chaotic things have happened in the past 4 years... if this is the case, after one more year, everything is going to turn out just fine and dandy? would be cool.

i know one may have been born around that time, but i swear i read that another was born recently, i don't know if his coat has remained white though. The first was born in 94, named Miracle which in Lakota means Rebirth. She was a female like in the prophecy, and her father died like in the prophecy, but i know her coat didn't remain white.

when you think about it, the past 4 years since 9-11-01 have been cluttered with a lot of bad things: 9-11, the war in Iraq (whether you're for or against it, people have died, so the death of those soldiers is a bad thing), Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the mass bombings in Spain and London, Space Shuttle Columbia, the premiere and eventual DVD release of Britney & Kevin: Chaotic (ok, that was a joke, lol) and so on.... Yes, bad things have always occured, but in the last few years they've been much more frequent.

every time a natural diasster, or just a worldwide disaster in general happens, religious "experts" claim the end is near. Well, like someone else said, "no man will know, only God Himself." I feel pretty safe in saying that even God can fool the "experts"

ST. Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

21:10 Then said He unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights, and great signs shall there be from heaven.

21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

St Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

St Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

This is some of what Christians believe will happen right before Christ returns. So while it's true that nobody knows the exact time or day of Christ's return, like Jesus said, when these things start happening at an alarming rate, that's how we will know that his return is near. So he won't give us the exact time, but he will warn us when his return is near. Based on all that's happening in the world right now, and based on how wars, rumors of wars, pestilences, and natural disasters seem to have picked up at such an alarming rate, I believe the end is very much near.

For anyone who wants to learn more about what Christians believe, and when we believe Christ will be returning, I encourage you to read ST. Matthew chapter 24, ST. Mark chapter 13, ST. Luke chapter 21, and the book of Revalations.

That is very true. But like the Bible says, a day for a man, is like a thousand years for God. So if Jesus happened to return tomorrow, then all the people who spoke of his return 100 years ago, would be correct, since 100 years is only a very short amount of time for God.

Thanx for the above info. I am sure we can look back in history and see alot of "chaotic" things that happened in clusters and it was assumed 'that the end was near'. Only God knows, and sometimes things are not obvious. We can assume alot of things, but we will not know until God decides.

No problem. Hopefully this was of some help to some people in understanding a little better what Christians believe. And I do agree with you that only God knows the exact time or day. I'm just thankful that he has given us a warning. Not even the people killed in the days of Noah received a warning, so I think Jesus giving us a warning, proves of God's grace for us.

The only reason everything seems so chaotic and everpresent is the explosion of technology and the media.

The internet and the media report everything and show you everything and is loaded with worldwide opinion, lies, rumors and hysteria.

You think this is the most chaotic time in history, the worst disasters to have ever happened, the most threatened the security of the world had been?

How about WWII, the Holocaust, all the famines, earthquakes and natural disasters in the last 50 years, how about the Cold War and the Bay of Pigs, how about the Cold War of the '80s?

Today the media and internet keep us all in fear, as fear sells.
There has always been chaos and war and terror.

It's just that now you have access to information 1000x over what is was in the past.

AND IT IS IN YOUR FACE 24 - 7.

True. Very True. I was going to go into detail abt other catastrophes and such, but I kept it minimum. You said this very well. I am sure anyone who has lived thru any era can sit here and tell you when they thought the end was near.
This hurricane is so devastating. I live in southern California and with earthquakes, there is NO WARNING whatsoever, I just put my faith in God and the fact that I have lived with earthquakes all my life and am still here to talk with you all, makes me know my faith in Him is very strong. I pray that those affected by this hurricane will make it through one day at a time.

I do believe the end of the world is coming. Just when that happens I don't know. There is a guy claiming to be the real son of God and he appeared at FIT in NY.
