Default JJ winning the lottery episode...

I know this was kinda mentioned before, but when I saw the episode today it really made me mad when Florida said to the family (and Willona too, LOL) that the $$$$ should go in the bank, that's what she and James wanted, for the kids college education, etc. etc. etc. Then she has the audacity to turn to JJ and ask him what he is going to do with the $$$$$. Well, excuse me, but if my mother said all that and then turned to me and asked what I am gonna do with MY $$$$$$$, I would obviously do what SHE JUST SAID. Simply because she stated out loud for the whole world to hear. How will I be able to say NO after she said that??????? This is another episode where Florida opens her mouth and makes me mad. Simply said, if any money was made (or in this case, won) I guess it should be made clear that ALL $$$$ goes in the bank. But the way Florida went on and on abt college, etc. only to then ask her son "What do you think??". He doesn't have to think, Florida already decided. So stupid and so dumb.

Exactly my point, if he lived there and HAD TO DO WHATEVER WAS GOING TO BENEFIT THE FAMILY, then why ask him the stupid question: WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO WITH THE MONEY?????? that is a rhetorical question, am I right?

It's been a minute, but fill me in. Wasn't Florida the one who deposited the money in the bank? And didn't JJ go with her? LOL. If that's the case, I see why she wanted it in the bank. Not unless JJ had his own account, that money was going in hers.

nope. they established the bank acct when they went to the bank. they didn't have a bank acct. It wasn't abt whose bank acct the $$$ was going to anyway, it was the rhetorical question asked by Florida.

I would have liked to see some continuity about the $2500 the Evans won after this episode. Like how was it spent.

You people are right on the money in this thread.

a mother who sacrifices everything for her family should expect her son to do the right thing.

That said. 2500 dollars wasn't even a life changing amount of money in the 70's

You are so right George. I hear that. Just the fact the question (rhetorical question that is) was asked wasn't necessary.

BTW it was the same bank manager. YAHOOOOOOO GT writers kept the continuity this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THe first thing I would have done if I had won would have been to ask my mother what she thinks I should do with the money..

Unfortunately knowing my mother she would not have said go out and spend it on Booze, broads, and brawls.
