I knew the title would get people to read but being the original true Vampire, aka Sam Dracula, Count Dracula, Vladmir Dracula, if he never sucks/tastes blood what kind of vampire is he? Kidding of course, it was a family oriented show and maybe Grandpa being around 400 years old or so at this time maybe he had to wear false fangs and could only attempt a bite.

We never saw fangs on Al Lewis or Bela Lugosi.

From the day Bela Lugosi first became known as "Dracula", it's been fantasized that any "Dracula" charcter is supposed to have fangs. I don't know why, because in no movie or TV show, the "Dracula" character has ever had any visible fangs.

Didn't Christopher Lee sprout fangs at certain moments in those Hammer Dracula films?
There were fangs on the first film vampire, Nosferatu, in the silent movie days. Bela and Al seemed to go for a fangless approach. |

Hmmm...
I'm really not sure. Any Dracula movie I have seen, I don't remember the character having fangs. |

Waitaminute, another vampire movie with fangs, one of my favorites, The Fearless Vampire Killers from 1967.
There was also Fright Night and the Lost Boys in the 1980s. Incisors rampant. Not Dracula, but offshoots anyway. |

Maybe Grandpa would of had more success at putting the bite on Lily if he had been sporting these...

Al Lewis doesn't have very big bicuspids. As a matter of fact, he has pretty plain straight teeth.
I myself have long bicuspids. You could almost say I have fangs.

M#1 I think you mean "canine" teeth. Looks like Eddie was sporting some set of choppers! Fang debate or not, I'm sure Grandpa was proud of little Eddie's smile. I wonder if Butch's teeth had anything to do with him getting the part?

Excellent point AP, it might very well have played a factor in getting Butch Patrick the role of everyone's favorite kid freak son of Frankenstein (sorry I couldn't resist
), Eddie Munster.pat |

Ah yes, 'canine" teeth. Sorry.
![]() I remember Butch himself saying that he thought he was given the part because of his teeth. |
