Default Question about my dogs health?

I was jsut wondering I have searched on the net to find out,but I can't seem to find any thing. My dog Sheeba is a Cesapeak retriver and mixd, she's 9 years of age, she had to go to the vet last winter, but she seems to be fine, still as stubborn as she was when she was a pup. But, I notice there's a cyst and it's grown like a walnut, she has 3 more, but smaller, she went tot the vet,the vet said when dogs get older they do develope cyst which hopefully are non cancer. Really she lives with my mom because I can't have dogs in my apartment which sucks, Me and my mom picked her out in front of the store in 96, so she's mom,if anybody ever goes near her house or a ring at the door she goes wild, barking.then when she see it somebody she knows it ok.But I just hope she is ok, she can live 4 more long years. It's always sad when you have to put down and animal. Because all they want is your love and they can protect you. She'll be fine.

I'm sure she is fine. I know how you feel, we have 6 cats and a Golden, and I can't stand to think about losing any of them. I think the thought of them getting old scares me more than the thought of me growing old. Just make life happy for them while they are here, they will be grateful!

If the vet you are taking her to will not do anything, I suggest you take the dog to another vet who will either test it or remove it. I have a miniature daschound and she has had several lumps appear. The first was a cancerous tumor. I now have to keep a close eye on her and get any removed we find.

Something THAT BIG can and WILL become cancerous if nothing is done.

My dog has some of those, they're small but it's what happens to old dogs. Usually it's nothing.

My nephew has a 10-year old boxer. He's got a lot of lumps too, but the vet said he's fine.

Good luck with Sheeba, and let us know how it goes. It's so hard. My Persian cat is 16 now, and it's breaking my heart watching him grow tired and old. I can cry just thinking about the day I have to say good-bye.

My dog started getting those a few months before he died. The vet said they were fat tumors and that removing them really wouldn't do anything since they were harmless. My dog was pretty old. He was about 13 so, the end was coming for him anyway. Hopefully, your dog will be around a few more years.
