Default A Waltons-type cartoon from the 70's

I know I'm not crazy. In the 70's I remember watching a cartoon that was about a Waltons type family, but I don't think they were supposed to be The Waltons. They lived back in the old times, and it seemed like they tried to make a Waltons/ Little House cartoon drama for kids. Does anybody remember what cartoon I'm talking about? If I had at least a name I could look more info up on the net.

Have you tried searching "70's cartoons" on the net? sometimes i throw in some words on the searches and you can come up with some good stuff. how about "short-lived cartoons" "short-lived cartoons 70's". etc.

I belive the cartoon you are refering to is 'These Are the Days", produced by Hanna-Barbera for the 1974-75 season, about the Day family and their lives, set in early 1900s rural America. (it came out the same year as "Devlin", like "Days" another animated drama for Saturday Mornings, which would explain why they both only lasted one season...)

Default These are the Days

"These are the Days" aired on ABC in 1974 and until about the mid-late '90's or so, I saw it again on Cartoon Network's series called "Boomerang" which aired on Sunday morning's I believe for two hours. Boomerang would cover the years of great childrens cartoon classics from I think (1958-75).

The show featured June Lockhart as widow Martha Day and Henry Jones, who later portrayed Phyllis Lindstrom's father-in-law on the Mary Tyler Moore show spinoff Phyllis as the grandfather. The show had only one season of first-run episodes and ABC reran the series the following season on Sunday morning.
