Default Oh grow up....

no, this isn't some lecture thread.

However, I was just curious since we have a wide age range of people here, what shows do you identify with your childhood, the years when you "grew up"?

I wish I had been a few years older. I remember my sister watching ODAAT but I was so young then. I didn't "discover" the show until it was on E in the mid-90's, I'd remember coming home from school and watching them. I have faint memories of Happy Days coming on after the noon news here being downstairs with my mom, but I didn't actually pay attention to it until TBS.

oh yes you reminded me of a few others: Baretta, SWAT (I loved that Italian guy) Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Starsky & Hutch, Police Story. It was all those cop shows that made me want to be in law enforcement

I thought this was a thread about the show, "Oh Grow Up." Which was funny, btw. Anyhoo...

Duck Tales
Smurfs
Whatever shows were on TGIF from the early to mid 90s
Ray Combs version of Family Feud
Let's Make a Deal and Name That Tune, because The Family Channel used to show them
Saved by the Bell
Hey, Dude
Welcome, Freshmen
Salute Your Shorts
You Can't Do That on Television
MMC...but before Britney and Justin were there. We're talking the Keri Russell years here.
Kids, Incorporated...ha, I knew Jennifer Love Hewitt and Stacey Ferguson before they were anyone.

Great thread!

I grew up w/ a variety of TV shows. Game shows, etc...

- The later version of Family Feud with Ray Combs on it (I missed the Richard Dawson years )
- Love Connection
- Tic Tac Dough
- Hollywood Squares
- Win, Lose or Draw, daytime edition (1987 - 1989), as well as the nighttime edition (1987 - 1991, I think)
- Pyramid
- The Price is Right
- Shop Til You Drop
- DuckTales
- Chip 'n Dale
- Rugrats (the VERY VERY early years -- 1991 - 1993)
- Doug
- Big, Bad Beetleborgs (I miss this show )
- Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (6th grade in 1996, the year it debuted -- graduated from HS the year it went off the air in 2003)
- The Rosie O'Donnell Show (it debuted in the summer of 1996, before I started 6th grade)
- Home Improvement
- 3rd Rock from the Sun
- You Can't Do That on Television (I remember this being on when I was growing up in the 80's)
- Eureka's Castle
- Charles in Charge
- Who's the Boss?
- Cheers
- Hey Dude
- Salute Your Shorts
- Are You Afraid of the Dark?
- Anything Marc Summers or Mike O'Malley hosted in the late 80's/early 90's -- the original Double Dare, Family Double Dare, Sloppy Double Dare, What Would You Do?, Get the Picture, Global Guts, etc.
- Full House
- The Simpsons (I was 4 1/2 when it debuted in 1989 and very much remember the hoopla surrounding it. It rocked to popularity after the first season in 1990)
- Seinfeld
- The Cosby Show
- Alf
- The Golden Girls
- Saved By the Bell

Good lord, I could go on FOREVER. And yes, I did get out a lot during my childhood. I just watched something different every day. Some of the shows I mentioned above continued their runs when I was in junior high or high school.
