Default A new MASH movie

I Know it was a movie before a show but with all the old TV shows doing a movie version lately do ya think a New movie of MASH would work. Also who would you cast .

While I don't think a movie remake of "M*A*S*H" would be a good idea (actually sacreligeous) nor a success, recasting movies is one of my favorite hobbies.

This is a tough one. Luckily I have a free day to think about this one.

But off the top of my head, my choice to play Charles would be Kelsey Grammer.

Welcome to the boards Larrymash.

Always nice to have another friend of the 4077th around!

Of course with the movie you would have to decide which group of characters would be there- BJ or Trapper, Blake or Potter, Frank or Charles.

I think Tom Selleck could be BJ.

Depending on age of doctors I think Jason Lee might make a good Trapper.

Other ideas:

Edward Norton or John Cusack as Hawkeye

Aaron Eckhardt as either Trapper or BJ

and though some of these actors might not go together with the others mentioned because of age:

Kevin Spacey or Billy Bob Thorton as Frank

Are you talking about a movie about the TV show, or a remake of the original movie (or TV show)?

Would we be casting actors to play Hawkeye, Trapper (or BJ), Hot Lips, etc., or would we be casting actors to play Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers (or Mike Farrell), Loretta Swit, etc.?

If it is for a remake of the movie, how about a bit of stunt casting - Kiefer Sutherland in the role of Hawkeye? His father played the role in the original movie.

In either case, I would cast Felicity Huffman as Hot Lips/Loretta Swit - she's got the acting and comedic chops for the role.

I just read this, and I find it amusing. I'm not so sure a movie would go today, but it could be fun to write one...

I noticed that there's not really a fan-fiction dedicated entirely to MASH either, so I was wondering if anyone would be interestsed in writing either a movie or a spin-off w/me? Thanks!

Well, the funny thing is, you could do a bunch of movies without needing new material IF you based them on the later M*A*S*H BOOKS , which havent been made into movies OR tv yet ( Mind you, ive heard they werent very good )

yeah...I've tried reading a couple of the books, but since I love the TV show so much, and the books are totally different, I don't really like the books that much.

don't ruin a good thing. just because hollywood is so desperate they have to remake everything, don't think we have to help them out with more re-done ideas.
M*A*S*H is great AS IT IS. don't ruin it's legacy.
