Default Should the Opening Credits have been more like Welcome Back Kotter after season 3?

You remember how the opening credits showed diffeent camera shots of Brooklyn each season, would that have been better for Good times after season 3 instead of clips of cast members? They could have showed different shots of downtown chicago, some playgriunds in the innercity and other things. Anyone agree?

Yes, I agree. The opening credits lost their grittiness once they showed the cast members.

They kept the closing credits like that so the opening credits could have stayed the same. Maybe they could have showed a group of guys walking down the street in the closing credits of season 4-lol

I hate the opening credits where the actors put on phony smiles to the camera. It was so dang corny!!!

If you're talking about that picure of michael you posted as being a phony smile, it wasn't. That shot was from an actual episode.

LMAOOOO

The cast shots didn't start until the fifth season. I liked it much better, especially when Willona would walk through the door.

I liked it too, when they showed Willona coming thru all those different times. And I liked trying to guess which shots came from which episodes.

Actually, if they were going to show Chicago, I would have liked to see other parts of Chicago. When I was a kid, I had this bad image of Chicago in my head, solely because of the opening credits and closing credits. I thought that all of Chicago was seedy, dirty, and that the air really had that hazy, reddish looking glow to it. I don't know why they went that route, especially with the color. That is horrendous.

I would have preferred to see more footage with people walking down the street in the opening credits rather than the Chicago Skyline-lol

Anything would have been better than that ugly look. I now know better that Chicago is also a beautiful city. My niece just came back from there. My sister went there last year. Awesomely beautiful.
