This isn't a joke or a funny or anything, but I just heard on the evening news about one killing (by gunshot) AND one stabbing of two different people happening inside one of our local Wal-Mart supercenters. It happened in broad daylight AND inside the store. Customers complained they heard gunshots going off!

The swat teams had to take out EVERYONE from the supercenter while they further investigate. The suspect is in custody, and the death is still under investigation if it was homocide. No word on the stabbing.

What was creepy and scary was that was the SAME Wal-Mart I shopped JUST about 1-2 hours before all of this happened. Whoa... this is just weird knowing how everything IN that store was like "normal" - customers, workers, greeters, etc, etc.... everything going on like nothing. Then I come home and hear about this? This just made it a strange and chilling day for me.

It goes to show that EVEN in a store, you HAVE to be careful about people around you. The later news will report more on what's happened with details, and I will update everyone on it as soon as I can. Anyway, shop with caution...seriously!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.... I actually got off of work earlier today, so I was just hanging out and surfing at work. Just thinking about all those posts/replies I was writing at that "friendship" thread earlier today and then going to lunch AND going to Wal-Mart just felt weird. If I was working until my normal time, then I would've gone to Wal-Mart AFTER work, then I would've been AT that certain store at THAT time. Like things happening for a reason.... It's chilling...truly... *shudders*

Yeah, it just goes to show how we humans just go about our normal routines for everything (going to work, going home, going to the store, going here or going there), and when something out of the ordinary happens, it just feels weird... it's like, "Oh my."

Everyone please be careful when you go shopping,especially during the late
hours,That's when most of these events take place,But always be alert even
if it's daytime!,You still can be put in harm's way if you aren't observant!

Where did this happen? Where do you live? That's weird, it seems alot of things happen at Wal-mart stores. My daughter worked there at our city's Wal-mart and there was always a bomb threat, parking lot arguments, one parking lot argument turned into road rage with someone shot!!! Another Wal-mart in our county, a man running from the law after killing 3 people, went inside that store and everyone ran out. WEIRD!!!!!!!

Thank God you weren't around at the time Mona. Even to witness something like that is quite traumatic.

A couple of years ago, a husband went on a rampage on his wife at the local Wal-Mart in our small town. They had been in a fight the night before, she was coming out of Wal-Mart on a Saturday morning and he comes flying up at the main entrance in his pickup and runs her over - circles back and does it again - didn't care that there were families right there - or anyone. It really upset the town for a couple of years until he came to trial.

An update:

I just saw the 10:00 p.m. news with some more details. The woman who was stabbed is going to make it. She was hospitalized. According to the news, she was working behind the counter at the bakery when he went up to her and started stabbing her. She was a Wal-Mart employee.

There wasn't much info on the person who was killed, but they were shot to death.

The people who were around the food area heard a couple of shots and thought it was stuff falling off shelves. The customers finally realized there were gunshots going off, so they were yelling to one another to run out of the store.

Weird how two separate violence events happened UNDER one roof at the same time.

*sigh* Such a sad world....

Oh my goodness. That's terrible. It's weird because we have about eight Wal-Marts here (no lie!!! We keep building more and more!), and this is the first violent act we've heard in a lonnnnnggggg time. It's sad how people find the need to take out their anger on others.

Our incident happened in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the southeast location Wal-Mart.

Oh my gosh... I'm sensing a violent spouse trend here. I just learned it was almost the same thing with an angry husband going after his employee wife.
