Default These are the numbers that prove the Season 5 DVD Cover makes no sense at all

Chrissy-seen in 1 episode in season 5

Cindy-seen in 17 episodes in season 5

Also Lana was only seen in 11 eps in season 4 and was on the season 4 DVD front cover. Doesn;t make much sense to me why Jenilee harrison is not on the Cover. I wonder is it because there were never any ABC Photos with Jenilee, John and Joyce? That's my only guest

We shouldn't jump to conclusions until we open up the inside of the cover

Tags mean ****. Jenilee was in the bulk of the shows. I say AB should change the front cover.

Still the case cover has not been released. Jenilee will probably be on that one. There was a photo with John, Joyce, Jenilee and Don Knotts I believe. I think it is in the Chris Mann book, but it is very rare, I've yet to see it online.

Suzanne is on the front cover because of good marketing. She was still in the opening credits for every episode and appeared in TWO full episodes (not 1). What difference does the front cover make anyway? As long as we get the full episodes. People were complaining that the photo was from season 4, but if anyone can prove me wrong, go ahead and find me a season 5 photo of John, Joyce and Suzanne. Because there is none!

It would be nice for her to have some sort of acknowledgement of course, and to include a pic of her would be the best way to do it, but I don't think she should be on the front cover. She wasn't even a third-billed actress then. She was, at the time, seen as a TEMPORARY replacement for Suzanne Somers, who everyone thought would return to the show. Because of this, Cindy was seen as a TEMPORARY fill-in and her character wasn't given much depth. The show didn't bother to fully flesh out her character since Suzanne was definitely expected to return, as per the network's wishes.

You're right about that. Plus, I think Suzanne SHOULD be on the cover simply because it will attract more buyers. If Jenilee were to be the prominent blonde on it, sales would most likely decline, and that could potentially lead Anchor Bay to think that interest in the show has declined as well, resulting in them not releasing Seasons 6-8, never mind the spin-offs.

I think the reason some people object to the cover is an attempt to show Jenilee some loyalty. She was totally innocent in the whole Suzanne fiasco but still ended up getting burned. Even with Suzanne being fired from the show and the controversy that ensued after it, she was still treated better than Jenilee was. I think the fans are sympathetic to that.

In some of the fans's eyes, including Jenilee on the cover is, in a small way, a way to 'right the wrong' that was done to the actress. But hey, she's over it. She has gone on record saying that she would've preferred to have stayed with the show for far longer than she did, but that was showbiz and she understood it wasn't anything personal. In the end she was grateful for the experience and for the exposure the show gave her.

The feelings toward Suzanne from some fans is anger, disappointment and resentment, especially since John Ritter's death. No matter how much some of us may claim to like Terri (or to even prefer Terri to Chrissy), the bottom line is, we all wish Suzanne hadn't done what she had done to the show. It hurt the show, it hurt the cast, it hurt everyone involved, including herself.

The thing that is so captivating about the whole thing is that, whether you like Suzanne or not, she was very good at playing the Chrissy character, almost to the point where one would expect that Suzanne and 'Chrissy' were one and the same. 'Chrissy', while being somewhat numb in the brain, was a sweetheart and it boggles the mind to envision her battling it out over money and leaving her "friends" high and dry. It's mindboggling to think that someone could be so convincing as an innocent, kindhearted soul on the show could, in real life, be all about getting the money she wants, even if it hurts other people in the process. The two images don't match, and I think that's why the story still lives on even to this day.

I personally tried to be diplomatic about Suzanne and her salary dispute. Suzanne wasn't the only one who messed things up. The producers did mean things to her as well, and they jerked around Audra Lindley & Norman Fell, Anne Wedgeworth, Jenilee Harrison, Priscilla Barnes, Richard Kline & Joyce DeWitt. And they made John Ritter lie to Joyce about the spin-off, which hurt Joyce deeply, causing a rift between the two, for a while at least. And John Ritter, for going along with the producers about the spin-off, is just as much to blame. He put business first before his friendship with Joyce. How could he or anyone expect Suzanne to have done any differently? Yes, I know Suzanne's selfishness was on a much bigger scale, but those are distinctions, not differences.

Aside from that, I'm turned off by Suzanne simply because she has refused to participate in any way in the Three's Company DVDs, even if it's to honor John's memory, unless she is paid mucho $$$. I think this goes beyond poor taste. And to think that, had she died from her bout with cancer a few years ago, John (as well as Joyce) would've honored her memory by emphasizing all of the GOOD times they had instead of focusing on the contract/salary dispute. And they would've done so without expecting any $$$ in return. Shame on you Suzanne!

Nevertheless, Suzanne belongs on the front cover. If it's the only way to ensure that DVD sales remain healthy, thereby guaranteeing more seasons to come, then put her on it. End of story!

Like others have pointed out, there aren't really any cast photos from the fifth season. There is one picture with the cast from season 5 in the Chris Mann book, but it doesn't look like a professionally done publicity photo like the ones that grace the season 3 and 4 DVD covers. Instead, it looks more like a photo they made on the set after taping an episode or something like that.

I think having Suzanne on the cover is a smart marketing move, as her image is more likely to sell DVDs than Jenilee's. And it's not as bad as what some other DVD companies have done - Joan Collins was (partially) on the Dynasty season 1 DVD cover (when she wasn't even on the show in season 1), and Robert Guilliame was on the Soap season 3 cover even though he only appeared in 2 or 3 episodes that season.

This is just a guess but.....
If you look at the 1st episode of Season 4 Jack on the Lam, Joyce Dewitt's new hairstyle was not really completely styled yet. Plus she looked a little heavier

If you look at the last episode of season 4, she looks a little slimmer than the pic on the cover of Season 5.

Also, John Ritter hair was thicker, and a little highighted, in the beginning of Season 4, just like in the pic on the DVD cover. His hair was shorter and not highlighted towards the end of season 4 and the beginning of season 5.

Yeah, and his muscles were a little more defined and his body more tanned in the beginning of Season 4....but this just may be my humble observation

I think they should have used a snapshot for the DVD cover of John, Joyce and Suzanne from the two episodes they all appeared in, Upstairs, Downstairs, Downstairs and A Hundred Dollars A What?

At least it would have been more accurate.

I find it very hard to believe that the sales would start dropping if suzanne wasn;t on the 5th season DVD cover, especially when the show has been selling so well up until this point. So are you trying to say Suzanne was the star of Three's Company?-lol I know that's not what you are saying ed
