Default Pav I wonder if the episodes are UNCUT on the That's My Mama DVD's or is it just

False advertisement? The reason I say that is because on both covers it says-Complete First Season and Complete Second Season so may those eps are uncut. I'm just guessing-probably not though. i'm just glad I got them and that all my emails to Sony paid off-lol

Solomon, how can most of those be unedited? The ones that are fishy are 22:30 and while a few are well over 25 minutes. My guess is that this show is rare they couldn't even find good masters.

The only things that are edited out of the DVD,and not on every episode either.but most are,is the beginning and the end theme.Other than that the episodes themselves are unedited and complete. They just happen to be time sped.Meaning they are sped up to where the original commercials would end and come back to the show.In order to get past where the commercials would have been, they had to be time sped. But at least everyone who buys the DVD's won't get shortchanged with any of the episodes. And I really don't think anyone will be buying the DVD's for the theme song.

What is your proof the episodes are speeded up? Why would they speed up on DVDs? This isn't television, where they are looking for more commercial time. And why do some episodes have 25:15 or so, and most of the others are 22:30 or so. We even compared syndicated prints and they were exactly the same, so how could it be time speeded if the content was the same and of course in syndication there are things edited.

I got this info from a friend of mine.I had asked him if any of these shows since they ended right around the 22 minute mark on the DVD's, does that mean that they were time sped and he said that he thinks that this is obviously the case.He said that they started doing this back in the 90's.I really can't see them doing this on DVD's, but you never know. And so far I am almost done watching the complete first season disc and so far I don't see any of the shows that look like they are cut, except for the theme at the beginning and at the end.Just going by what I see so far.

Timespeeding is something that is done to filmed shows, not videotaped ones. When taped shows are edited for syndication they are cut. Syndication prints are used by companies that are either too lazy or too cheap to go back to the original masters. It has nothing to do with condition. All shows of this type have quite a few "masters" that could be used. It would be next to impossible for all of the masters for any episode to be unusable.

I do think that was the case in That's My Mama because there were only a few eps on the DVD's that were uncut(25min) and the others were 21 min. So it looks like the masters for the 21 min eps were unusable

Did anybody notice at one point during "The Ambulance Chaser" how fuzzy/wavy the video got in one of the hospital scenes?

Do you think it's bad just because it's not good or because you had higher expectations for it? I watched a bunch of episodes yesterday and didn't think it was so bad. It's not as good as the more popular shows from that time, but it was watchable to me.

Yes I think my expectations were higher because of the way TV Guide hyped up the season 1 eps.
