I personally though that Bob Newhart Show was very weak in it's scripts, but Marcia Wallace was extremly funny. I prefer Newhart better.

I have never found Bob Newhart to be that funny but I think the reason his sitcoms lasted was because of the characters and the laid-back humor.

^ Totally agree, I loved his easy laid back style. The rest of the cast worked so well with him too. I wish there were more shows like that on today.

I loved both of his shows in the 70's and 80's. I also enjoyed his show, George and Leo.

His book, "I shouldn't even be doing this!", was also very funny.

The guy just cracks me up.

I did not like the series Bob his series in the 90s. Him and Carlene Watkins did not have no chemistry whatsoever plus they had Bob playing a character was way over the top. That was not Bob Newhart at all.

I also read his book and enjoyed it very much. I also wrote him a letter and got an autographed picture!!
