Default I'm new to Roseanne, how many years apart was Darlene and Becky?

It looks like Becky is supposed to be aboue 3-4 older than Darlene in these season 1 eps I'm watching now on N@N. Can someone let me know how many years apart were they?

Their about 11/2 to 2 years apart. In the episode,"Shower the People You Love with Stuff", Darlene and Becky are fighting, and she says how old they were at that time.(Darlene was 19 and Becky was 21)

I always thought they were about 2 - 3 years apart. Although to me, Darlene was always more mature in a lot of ways than Becky. Then I'd say there was 4 - 5 yrs difference between Darlene and DJ.

It was all a fantasy anyway. In Roseanne's world Darlene might be older than Becky. Sorry just having a last episode flashback.

I guess 2 years then. Yeah, there was about a 5 year age difference between Darlene and DJ. I definately agree that Darlene was more mature in a lot of ways than Becky.

That's probably because during that time, Darlene was supposed to be a lot older-lol

darlene always made fun of becky2-she implied becky was stupid, a slut and she made fun of her for having a crappy life and she constantly berated mark

Is that because Becky 2 was CUTE and Becky 1 wasn't?-LOL

actually, Lecy Goranson is only 7 months older than Sara Gilbert, but Sara's a year and a half older than Sarah Chalke. In season one, Becky was 13-14 and Darlene was 11.

Lecy played a different Becky than Sarah did. Lecy's idea of Becky was a strong-willed and smart girl, Sarah was a dumb blonde. Lecy's Becky stood up to Darlene, Sarah's Becky was a doormat and wasn't at all the same character.

You could really tell the difference between the two in season 8. Darlene and Lecy's Becky were equals by then and were a mini-Roseanne and Jackie. You never quite saw the same type of bond between Sarah's Becky and Darlene.

well, excuse me. I was just saying I think that Sara being older than Sarah kinda gave Darlene the upper hand over Becky in the latter seasons, that Becky #2 was never really an equal to Darlene the way Becky #1 would fight back at her. I said nothing wrong.

Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I wasn't even addressing your comment. I apoligize if it came off like that. It's not a big deal. How about we put this tiff behind us, cool? P.S. I deleted the message. I'm really sorry.

Okay, my conclusion is that Darlene and Becky are 2-3 years apart on the show. What do all of you think?

I'd say Becky and Darlene were roughly 2 years apart. But I consider Darlene to be much older than Becky mentality-wise. I mean, Becky always threw tantrums and Darlene always would just smart off.
