Oh No Dumb Stage Names

Here are some of the dumbest stage names - or as the French say, noms d'etage - ever:

Cedric the Entertainer - You wouldn't think he is if you saw any of his movies.

Queen Latifah - She's a queen like Laura Schlessinger is a doctor. ""Ladies First" - if she's a lady, I'm a vermicious kanid!

Sting - His music was never really that biting.

Cantinflas - It was Spanish for "wordy fool," appropriate for a fellow who may have set Mexican-Americans back a hundred years.

Axl Rose - Anyone notice the naughty anagram in there?

Napoleon XIV - I'm glad they came to take him away, ha ha!

The Edge - Naming yourself after an untangible noun? What was wrong with "The Wind?"

Meat Loaf - "Let me introduce you to my daughter, Halfa!"

all other rap names, especially KRS-One, which sounds like a sports car!

I still like Joey on Friends considering using "Joseph Stalin".

And let's not forget P. Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy Daddy, Puffy Diddy Daddy, or whatever his latest one is.

Or Prince - then a symbol - then back to Prince again. God people - whatever happened to "John Smith"?!

That was the real name of a German classical composer that British ballad crooner Arnold Dorsey adopted as his own! Don't ask me why.

Er, Prince is his real name. His full name is Prince Rogers Nelson.

His father John Nelson, also musician, performed under the stage name Prince Rogers. So that name is Prince's father's fault! Which means I should start a thread on dumb names peopel give their kids!

Yeah - maybe you should - that could go on forever - like Michael Jackson's Prince, a.k.a. Blanket, etc.!!

For Prince (the singer) though, it was more him going to a stupid symbol than the name Prince! I mean - what the hell do you call somebody when they go by " &" or whatever!! - "Hey YOU - the 8th key over on the top row of a keyboard!" LOL

Oh No

Bono...probably because the guy gets on my nerves. He actually thinks U2 is the most important band on the planet. Talk about an ego.

A rock critic once said that U2 think they're the greatest rock and roll band in the world; sometimes they are, other times they don't even come close. I agree with that sentiment.
