Default What was the worst thing about season 1? The Theme Song or The Show period?

I would say both were on the same level of horrible. Actually let me change that, i think the theme song was a little worse than the season 1 eps

I liked the first season theme song! It was goofy and bouncy. I liked it better than the updated versions. The first episodes are ultra-cheesy and corny and I enjoy them, but I am waiting for Jo to arrive.

Correct me if my quotes are wrong:

Mrs. G (to Jo): I'll show you where you can park your bike
Jo: WHY DON'T I PARK IT ON BLAIR'S FACE??

I can see how Jo salvaged the series, but she needed a better boyfriend than Clark Brandon. Jo was a tough inner city girl. She wouldn't be dating a
pin-up boy like him.

I thought the first season was more like a teenage "jiggle" show....more girls in shorts than school unis.....the girls were mostly snobby rich and uninteresting, thank goodness for Jo ( Nancy McKeon ) who showed up the next season, she saved that show!!! ( Although, it is funny to think that Molly Ringwald got her start that 1rst season, then went on to bigger things )

I like the theme a little more than the period. That first season was too crowded with so many people and not only that, most of the girls was too snobbish or just plain out there, for example why the hell did they have Tootie on skates in the first season.

Just like Mikado said it's kind of funny seeing Molly Ringwald get her start on S1 and go on to bigger and better things. Not to mention the fact that after the first season, some of the other S1 characters that got the ax did actually come back and return from time to time.

Molly Ringwald did make a return in a S2 ep., though as did Natalie Schaffer or whatever her name was.

Even though I didn't like Jo that much, at least she did manage to turn some things around on FoL.

I think that some of the episodes were ok, but I like the later seasons much better. I think that the first season period was the worst.

the prob with season 1 is that too many girls were focused on, with just 4, they were all given the breakout potential. But with 7, none of the characters were really given the chance to shine.

Kim fields was younger than the other girls on the show and quite a bit shorter, so they put her on skates to make her taller, and thus fit in better!!!! ( This is a true quote from the show's producer that i read in a TV guide kind of thing )

The episode Emily Dickinson was really bad.
I still can't believe Blair won the contest Mr. Bradley entered her in.
Even though Blair copied it wouldn't the judges have known she plagerized it?
They must have been real losers.

Definitely the show itself, period. The theme song wasn't that bad. I can actually imagine myself putting it on "repeat" with Windows Media Player.

As a Blair fan, I'm surprised you don't appreciate season 9 more. Blair had some great stuff in that season. Blair flew all the way out to LA to help Jo, she got caught up in a scandal with one of her professors, she buys the shelter where Jo works (how very, very kind!), she very humbly admits her mistake when she loses Bailey (I love to see Blair be humble), she give that hilarous kleenex box lecture about men, she helps solve a murder, Lisa gives her excellent performance when Blair is in an accident, she utters one her funniest lines ever "dead people don't shop" (did I quote that right?), she takes over as principal of Eastland and does a good job.
