Joe had better resign. The way things are going this season I wouldn't be surprised if he was fired.

Joe is not a jerk and would never leave like that. And I wouldn't expect him to.

Steinbrenner has never been kind to managers. and Joe knew that when taking the job.

Joe will have his number retired and will go into the hall of fame as a manager.

My husband, who is one of the biggest Red Sox fans on the planet, has always liked and admired Joe Torre. He likes his no-nonsense style of managing, his interaction with players, and his to keen ability to utilize the team's talent.

My husband said that Torre knows how to manage the varied personalities on the team, knows how to put out fires and how to cope with team issues.

And if Steinbrenner ever gets rid of Torre, Boston will take him in a New York minute.

I think the Joe Torre era has come to an end.
It's been a great run, and thanks to him the Yankees have experienced a surge in popululatiry not seen in baseball in a long time, but the team is no longer responding to his style of managing.

Mark my words, Steinbrener wants Lou Pinella to take over the team. He's a kickass type of guy who is just what he needs to get results nowadays. Plus, I'm sure the diehard New York fans would love to see "Sweet Lou" as he was called in his playing days, back in Yankee pinstripes.

As much as I love "Sweet" Lou Pinella, I still want Torre to manage this team. He in my opinion has earned a lifetime contract with the team. I don't think this has anything to do with the way Torre manages, the simple fact is there is no pitching. Whether it be starting or bullpen, they just don't have it this year. That's not Torre's fault, that's GM Brian Cashman's.
