Default I have to agree with the Bank Manager in the ep-"The Mural", what J.J painted was....

TRASH!!!!!-lol What a horrible painting for a bank. Didn't fit at all. Like the man said, he wanted to see the HAPPY side of Ghetto life, no Big Money Grip shooting Pool inside the Dirty A$$ Pool Hall. J.J was a certified Idiot

Like I said before, the ghetto may be in general a bad place, but there are good people. Who wants to see a pool hall when they walk inside the bank? Or wherever that mural was? It's a nice mural, just needed to painted somewhere else.

I agree, it was bad taste.

Man, that painting was fresh! Like JJ said, "What can be happier than shooting a little 8 ball."

Yea but what does an 8-ball have to do with the bank? There was absolutely no connection. He should've painted that exact same thing on the facade of a pool hall.

I still like how James stood up for JJ, although I dislike how he was jealous that JJ was coming through for Thelma.

I don't think he was jealous, i think it was being disappointed with himself for not being able to come through for Thelma.

JJ was a ghetto ar-tist, he paints what he feels. Just like when Flo asked him "Why can't you paint trees, mountains, green meadows?"

JJ: As soon as we get some of 'em around here, I'll paint 'em.

Besides what kind of picture could he have painted for a bank...........a safe?

The Bank Manager told J.J what he wanted him to paint on the Wall-"Kids playing in a Fire Hydrant"
But for some odd reason, J,J painted BIG WILLIE KOONTZ And THE GANG-lol

actually Soloman, i think the bank manager was referring to JJ's other mural of kids playing near a fire hydrant, which is why he commissioned JJ to paint a mural similar to that one in his bank. He said words to the effect of: "I want you paint something that reflects ghetto life, such as the children playing by the fire hydrant".

He didn't say he wanted JJ to paint a picture with kids playing. He said that he saw a painting that JJ had painted with kids playing in the Hydrant that one of his friends bought from JJ.

The manager or Owner never told JJ to paint a certain painting. He should have talked to JJ and asked him about the things that he painted and he shoud have looked at all of JJ paintings before he asked him. JJ painted what he knew and what he saw in everyday life, So he painted the Pool Hall. Everyone liked the painted except for the manager.

But since Mr. Hewitt's reason for coming to the Evans APT was because of the kids playing in the fire hydrant, It seemed like J.J would have had enough sense to paint a LARGER VERSION of the picture Mr. Hewitt was impressed with.

It's a beautiful mural, it's spectacular, but not for a bank building.

True. bottom line if someone is commissioned to do a mural on a public building, best that the manager and the painter sit down and discuss the details. Dumb!!!!
