Max Baer Jr ( Son of the famous boxer ) became a successful movie producer some years back and Nancy Culp, who played Jane Hathaway died of cancer after a failed run at the Senate...Her ex co-star Buddy Ebsen ran ads denouncing her for being a lesbian, when she died, they werent even talking.

she was a lesbian? I never knew that; they didn't mention that on "The E! True Hollywood Story".

I know that she was on some episodes of "Sanford and Son" in-I think-1976.

Yea she was a lesbian. I don't think Buddy Ebsen denounced her for being a lesbian. He endorced her opponent when she ran for the senate. I don't even think it was known she was a lesbian until shortly before her death.

Yes , he did know, thats why he endorsed her opponent; because he didnt approve of her "lifestyle". Maybe denounced was too strong a word, you might say he denounced her "by his actions" though.

I thought the political race was all about how she claimed the cast of BH were supporting her run, when she knew that Ebsen was not and would not [it was written that Ebsen and Kulp were friends who engaged in 'good-natured' political sparring sometimes; but if it ever got serious, they would be enemies for a time, as Kulp was a left-winger and Ebsen a right-winger]. Anyway, Ebsen was asked by her opponent to do an ad making it clear he does not support her or her political positions; he did it, and they were permanent enemies thereafter, never on speaking terms again.

I thought he endorsed her opponent because he was a Republican. He probably did know but I doubt he would have supported her regardless. I saw the ad that he ran and I never heard anything about her being a Lesbian on it.

CBS made a special on the series in 1992 (a few months before the HORRIBLE B.H. movie was released) that was hosted by Mac Davis, pretending that the Clammpets were real, and it gave an "update" on them, telling what became of them after the show ended. And it said that Mr. Drysdale had been arrested and gone to prison for trying to bilk the Clammpets and some other people , Jane Hathaway had turned him in and was currently living in an undisclosed location in the wittness protection program.

And they said that Jethro was currently a doctor!

She was married in the early 50's for a while but had no children.
