Default Anybody seen the 80's flick Star 80?

Has any one seen Star 80? I remember this movie was a story about Dorathy Straton, the playboy bunny who got murdered in 1980 by her BF, The bf played by Eric Roberts all I remember he played a very convincing role. The actress who played Dorathy did a excellent job also, I know who she is,but I don't know how to spell her name,(she was on Roseann playing a lesbian who wanted her)LOL

A sad way for a sweet and lovely Canadian girl to lose her life, what IS this trend of abusive husbands/BFs killing their EXs anyway????? You break up with someone, you find someone ELSE, GEEEZZZ......Im a firm believer that there should be a course in ALL schools on RELATIONSHIPS, how to aproach them, how to treat each other, how to manage a household budget and even how to resepect each other when/if it falls apart...this course should be MANDATORY in grade school!!!

I liked that movie. It's a sad story. I believe it was her Dorothy's husband who murdered her, not her boyfriend.

We've heard so much about Dorothy Stratten, but has anybody actually seen a real Dorothy Stratten movie such as Autumn Born or Galaxina? She didn't get to make many films. It's hard to believe she was only 20, but they had her all made up naturally.

Didn't Jamie Lee Curtis do a made for TV Dorothy Stratten movie? Talk about miscasting!

Sad

I saw that movie in 1984 in the theaters, I remember it was very depressing that a person like Paul Snider who claimed to "love her" chose to murder her, and then himself, when things didn't go his way. It was a very good movie, but very disturbing. I remember for years after that I couldn't get that poor girl, Dorothy Stratten, out of my mind, she was so beautiful, kind, and so full of promise that a sick sleaze like her husband decided to kill her. Eric Roberts did a good job playing her husband, in fact, he seems to have a good career playing lowlifes.

He was still her husband, she was having an affair with Peter Bogdanovich (Producer) when the murders occurred. Also, Peter ended marrying Dorothy's little sister abt 10 years later. They divorced after abt 6 years i think.

yeah, and that guy from that cop show played her husband, Paul Snider. Man, I can't think of his name or that damn cop show. His character almost always wore a blue beanie and he had a moustache. He played the attorney in that Nancy Mckeon movie "The Tracey Thurman Story". God someone help me!!!!!!

I'd have to look it up, but the t.v. movie also featured the late Robert Reed as her love interest (the Peter Bogdanovich character).

okay it's Bruce Weitz. I didn't like that movie. Jamie had blonde hair but the movie was so far off.

Yes, I thought it was really good. Every time I've watched it, it's really creeped me out and what happened to her is not only very sad but tragic. And Eric Roberts never fails to scare the hell outta me.

I've seen Dorothy when she was on Buck Rogers.
