Past and present....

Bob Seger's song, 'Like A Rock' has been used to pitch Ford trucks for years.

The Kansas song, 'Dust In The Wind' is currently being used in a car commercial (can't think of the model of car).

Others?

"Dream On" was used in some car commerical but im not sure which one cause they all look the same.

Sweet Melissa - Allman Brothers is in a cell phone commercial.

I didn't know at first that song was even an actual song by Bob Seger. I could tell it was him singing it, just never knew until a few years ago it was a real song. Also, that Six Flags song with the old man dancing fast. I didn't know it was also a real song by the Vengaboys.

I don't know if this counts,but the song for a Fleecy commercial was done to the tune of Carly Simon's 1977 hit"Nobody Does It Better".

Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" is used in car commercials. I don't remember the brand of car though.

I'm pretty sure The Cars song "You're Just What I Needed" was used in a car commercial.

Speaking of a Carly Simon song, wasn't Anticipation used in a Heinz ketchup commercial back in the 70's, and was Orlean's Still The One used as a fall promotional song for ABC back in the 70's also???

As i recall it, the commercial came first and proved so popular that it was re-recorded in a longer, slightly altered version that hit #1 worldwide
