I just finished reading the article about Pierce Brosnan not being chosen to play 007 again. In his words he is going on and on abt how he didn't feel a connection or something like that to the Bond character anyway. It reminded me of actors/actresses who have played a character so well, they became identified with that character and then they later trashed that character. For example, Gary Coleman, rather than be grateful for the job he had playing Arnold, he resents people who remember him for that. For God's sake, that was his bread and butter. Can anyone else think of any celebrity who is ungrateful for their success or for a character they played?

The actress who played Jan (Eve Plumb) on the Brady Bunch is another example who resents her fame as Jan.

Isn't Sean Penn embarrassed about the Spicoli character he played in "Fast Times..."?

I know Ray Walston always resented the fame he received from playing the martian on My Favorite Martian. I think Larry Hagman had some regrets from playing Tony Nelson on IDOJ until at least recently. He never used to take part in any reunions or interviews with the cast until the last few years. What about John Travolta and the cast of Welcome Back Kotter. Whenever the cast gets together he's always absent and I never hear him talking about the show.

Tina Louise will have nothing to do with the character that made her famous.(Ginger, Gilligan's Island) But as I see it who would even know who she is without the Ginger role?
As far as I know she never even came close to fame before or since Gilligan's Island.

Don Adams hates the fact that hes so typecast as Maxwell Smart...gripes that he never got a chance to prove he could be a REAL actor...geez, who wouldnt have loved to trade places with him?
