Default UNGRATEFUL ACTORS/ACTRESSES etc.

I just finished reading the article about Pierce Brosnan not being chosen to play 007 again. In his words he is going on and on abt how he didn't feel a connection or something like that to the Bond character anyway. It reminded me of actors/actresses who have played a character so well, they became identified with that character and then they later trashed that character. For example, Gary Coleman, rather than be grateful for the job he had playing Arnold, he resents people who remember him for that. For God's sake, that was his bread and butter. Can anyone else think of any celebrity who is ungrateful for their success or for a character they played?

Gob: There's not a lot of logic to it. It's kind of like on a boat with "Women and children first." I mean, why should they -

The actress who played Jan (Eve Plumb) on the Brady Bunch is another example who resents her fame as Jan.

Isn't Sean Penn embarrassed about the Spicoli character he played in "Fast Times..."?

Hmmm, not sure. I know I read something abt Sean talking abt the character, but I can't recall. Recently on BEING BOBBY BROWN, Whitney didn't want to sign autographs or have pics taken of her. Bobby on the other hand said something to the effect of being grateful to his fans. Whitney was screaming, "I want to left alone". Then WHY ON EARTH HONEY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME FAMOUS???? One could sing without becoming famous. She could have sung in nightclubs, karaoke bars, etc.

I know Ray Walston always resented the fame he received from playing the martian on My Favorite Martian. I think Larry Hagman had some regrets from playing Tony Nelson on IDOJ until at least recently. He never used to take part in any reunions or interviews with the cast until the last few years. What about John Travolta and the cast of Welcome Back Kotter. Whenever the cast gets together he's always absent and I never hear him talking about the show.

Tina Louise will have nothing to do with the character that made her famous.(Ginger, Gilligan's Island) But as I see it who would even know who she is without the Ginger role? As far as I know she never even came close to fame before or since Gilligan's Island.

yes, he encouraged her to quit Buffy and then he belittled both the show and it's fans in an E! interview and tries to control her choices in film. I do not like him

Well, 2 reasons, #1 she blames GI for cutting off the career as a MOVIE actress she REALLY wanted #2 She claims she had been promised the lead on the show...even though it wasnt called Gingers island ...hmmmmmm

Don Adams hates the fact that hes so typecast as Maxwell Smart...gripes that he never got a chance to prove he could be a REAL actor...geez, who wouldnt have loved to trade places with him?
