yep, at the end of the song, you hear "Sedaka's back!!", because at the time, Neil Sedaka was making a big comeback with the help of Elton John

I believe he made his version of the song. He is best known as a songwriter. He was inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame last year I believe. He has written soooo many songs, songs I am sure people would be surprised to know he wrote. He had many hits himself like "Laughter in the rain" "Oh Carol" (he wrote and dedicated this song to Carole King; he was in love with her).

The Captain & Tennille sang it. It was #1 on the WABC's survey back on July 8th, 1975.
