Can DSS take a child away from their parents if they are overweight?
I know that you shouldnt believe what happens on TV..But I am watching Strong Medicine right now, and I was wondering if DSS(Department of Social Services) could actually take a child away from their parents because of a weight issue. The mother of the girl was trying to get the weight under control, but they took her away anyway. Legally, can they even do that?

It depends, the child would have to be morbidly obese and the parents weren't doing anything about it.
