DVD Episodes Where I Can't Tell What Had Been Missing. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Guys,

So far, I have noticed only two in comparision to TV Land versions where I could not distinguish what has been taken out. One is Kitty Karry All is Missing from Season 1 and The Tattletale from Season 2.

This DOES NOT indicate that nothing has been cut from those episodes from TV Land's version, it's just that I can't pick up on what TV Land took out when watching them on DVD.

There were episodes I couldn't tell what had been missing either. I have all episodes except Mike's Horrorscope on tape so one of these days when I have some time maybe I'll watch them back to back on DVD and tape to see the differences. Better yet, I could set up our portable DVD player next to the TV and watch them at the same time!

I know that TV Land's editing has been sometimes very subtle. For instance, in the Davy Jones episode, TV Land omits Carol's line about Davy Jones being even more popular than pepperoni pizza. But the line is so cleanly edited out on TV Land that it is impossible to tell there was an edit--unless you remember that line from watching the show on a different channel, of course.

Some of the episodes were on VHS bofore this. Also, on of the closing logos are different on a first season episode called Vote for Brady. I never see the epidode until is was on a local station in Chicago and it had a different sounding song than on the DVD. That is not as important to most people of course. The same local station did not cut out a scene that a station that used to have it did. It was the one where Alice sticks here tongue out in Sam's bucher shop. I wonder if TV Land had that part because I do not have cable.
