The original The Adventures of Superman. Also not listed but the original Paramount Shorts are good as well

I'd have to agree. Mort Weisinger, of DC Comics, was involved with the original
series; and it honed pretty close to the character created by Jerry Siegel & Joe
Shuster. Later versions, like the post-John Byrne comic books, have taken
some liberties with that concept in trying to bring it more up to date. Still, I am
a fan of SMALLVILLE (my favorite current TV series). But, for me, the George
Reeves version is the definitive TV incarnation.

Never saw The Adventures of Superman, but I'd like to. So between Lois & Clark and Smallville I'd have to say Lois & Clark. Smallville's not incredibly far behind, but it's not quite Superman yet, so that's why I picked Lois & Clark...plus, Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain had some superb chemistry going on there.

The only problem that I had with LOIS & CLARK was that Dean Cain was too
young. I mean, he was even younger than Gerard Christopher (who had
starred in the syndicated SUPERBOY series a few years before)! Superman
should be older than Superboy.

Really? Cause I always thought he was old enough. He was what, in his mid 30's at the time?

Superman Returns (movie being released this summer) on the other hand, he doesn't look anywhere old enough to be playing the part...and he's not built at all. Maybe in the movie he'll appear to be a bit more, but to me he's just not Superman. Could it be they picked him so that they could release several movies over the years without him being too old? Or do you think it's to capture a teen audience? ...It could be just plain laziness to find the right Superman.

Actually Brandon Routh is very built

http://www.supermanhomepage.com/imag...workingout.jpg

I don't know where people get the idea that he's not built, he's more built than Tom Welling, Tom's lost ALOT of muscle definition this season

Dean Cain was 26 when he debuted on Lois and Clark, and I think Gerard Christopher was close to the same age

Anyways my favorite series is Lois and Clark

The pictures I've seen of Brandon in his suit made him appear kinda flabby more than built, but that picture does show quite some definition. Hopefully in the movie this sticks out compared to the pictures I've seen beforehand.

And Dean was only 26, wow. He looked about 5-8 years older IMO, maybe that's why they were able to get away with it. Weren't Lois & Clark suppose to be about 30 on the show? ...I think they mentioned their age somewhere throughout the show didn't they?

I like the first two movies, with Christopher Reeve. The third movie was pretty bad, and the fourth one sucked.

I always loved the original with George Reeves. Especially the first season, because it was shot in comic-book style.

This is a poll about which tv version of Superman you like best, not the movies.

I know, I'm just stating another opinion! Besides, someone else mentioned the Paramount shorts from the 40s, and they're not in the poll, either.

SO JUST CALM DOWN!!!
