Default Point LOST

Regardless of other issues going on in that post, the original point of Smurf's post is true, there are too many people out there worrying about how fast they can trade instead of looking at what they have, there are also too many people not taking the time to understand the difference in quality and rarity of shows, some shows are NOT in good quality, and some should be in PERFECT quality. For example, after many years I am convinced Sanford Arms will always be 6 out of 10 until a major studio releases the master tapes! Whereas A Pup Named Scooby Doo should be a 10 out of 10 only b/c it is broadcast on TV every so many months, there is no excuse for a crappy set of that being traded.

This kind of crappola is ruining the board.

Fortunately for me, I have met some great traders and will continue to trade privately with them, unfortunately for some of you and me, we will not be trading due to the bullcrap that's going on here as of late. This is like a soap opera everyday.

Disputes should be kept private until there is a true bad trader issue.

Disagreements over quality should be solved up front and HERE is a way to do that:

1. Ask where the set came from , ie was it recorded onto dvd from directv or is it a vhs transfer or 16mm film to vhs to dvd, etc?
2. Once the source is know, DON'T assume, ask about picture/sound quality
3. Ask how the reproduction for the trade will occur, ie, computer burn, vhs to dvd, What SPEED? (XP, SP, LP)

Fairly simple and should eliminate hard feelings.

Finally, SLOW down in your trades and get things right, this is not a business for most, JUST a hobby.

Always remember, there is a great mix of folks on here, if you take the time to listen, you might learn something no matter how long you have been doing this.

Tdubel isn't the only one on this board that has wise advice. I've cringed too often within the last week or so as I've seen some of the most respected traders in the trading world criticized here when they were merely trying to help newbies. Given time, much of the criticism doled out will be regretted when you're banned from joining some of the more exclusive trading groups.

On a daily basis I recognize members from other trading sites joining here. Just because they haven't been a member here long or don't have a large number of posts, doesn't mean they haven't been around. It'd be in your best interest to learn by your mistakes as well as from others before verbally bashing someone, or you will be cutting off your nose to spite your face.
