Default Long Distance Relationships?

Do they ever work? My boyfriend of 3 years is back home, and i'm here in LA. The last time i saw him was 4th of July. I miss him, and i love him, but it's really hard, i only talk to him every week or so.

I think it only works when both are on the same level and are 100% dedicated.

Long distance relationships *can* work out. It all depends on the mutuality AND communication. It's the same with in-town relationships. So it's up to the two people involved to make it either happen or not. If things dissipate, then it's because of something that's just drifting - something that's not mutual.

Drifting is natural if it is a long distance relationship. Talking on the phone and talking online are way different from talking in person, going out, being intimate, hugs, kisses, etc, etc.

Especially if you are young. I mean, what's the sense? If you are young, you should be sowing your oats, going out and having a good time. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. I just don't think it makes alot of sense.

depends... if you've been in a relationship and you are old enough and mature enough to handle the dedication and patience it takes to maintain a long distance relationship, then yea it's possible

but if your young, and still wanna find out "what's out there", then chances are, you're better off cutting the ropes and if it's meant to be it'll happen

of coures, i typed all this BEFORE I read Brian's post above, so i'll throw in a "ditto" to that too

It all depends. If it's JUST exclusively online, then yes, it doesn't work much in that way. They'd, naturally, have to see each other in person sometimes. However, online communication and phone are also *a* mode of keeping in contact. So, once again, it depends on the individuals and how they mutually agree upon the type of contact among other decisions.
