Default Would It Have Worked Better If They Still Mentioned Judy Just Not Showing Her?

Instead of just acting like Judy never existed, do you think it would have worked better if they simply did not show Judy but at least mentioned her from time to time? Any thoughts?

Well no, it doesn't matter either way because people will be on here saying.. why did we never see Judy after season so in so? I rather they'd just have killed her off.. It could have been a very powerful episode & it's not like they've killed characters off sitcoms before (James on Good Times).A two parter showing the family's turmoil of her death could be good too!If the actress wasn't going to be on anymore, they need to have addressed it... That's what I always hated.

They should've had her guest-starring in maybe 3 or 4 episodes per season like only put her in the episodes where the whole family was together (like Holiday episodes and the trip episodes.) They basically did the same thing with Rachel, Grandma, and Richie. She didn't even have to have any lines she could've just been seen at least.

I don't know what they could have done, but it was really wierd the way she just disapeared into no-where. I didn't like how they did it.

Yeah it was also wierd when Harriette and Carl would say they only have 2 children when Judy was on there for the first four seasons.

Also they never really explained what happened to Fletcher after he and Mother Winslow got married.

Also what about Rodney,Vonda,Willie, Lt. Murtah and Weasel?

They could've at least let us see Steve's parents at least once or twice.

Steve's parents not being seen was an ongoing joke on the show, it would have been kind of strange to see them. I wonder how they would have looked.

[B]I think they could have put Judy Winslow in a private school that was far away from chicago, and just brought her back for the holidays, or have her call in here and there.(they dont even have to show her. Just some kinda proof she existed)....kind of like kimberly from the diff'rent strokes/fol

I agree, I think in season 4, they could have said that she got accepted to a school somewhere and that she would live with relatives. Or they could have done what they did with Waldo mention in one episode why she is not there. She could have even come back occassionally for the Christmas episodes like Rachel did. It is that simple, but they were way too focused on Steve, Laura, Eddie, Waldo, Myra etc. to even think about Judy.

Right, since she wasn't getting much attention already, I guess they were just hoping viewers wouldn't notice or care about Judy disappearing. That's probably why they mentioned Waldo's disappearance because he had a much bigger role.

Maybe she could have gone with Rachel.
