Default Got any?

...tattoos that is? Share your first tattoo experience! My friend and I are planning on getting one in about a month. I think I'm going with a purple and yellow (or some other color with purple) butterfly on my back...upper left hand corner. Can someone tell me what to expect in terms of pain and afterward?

Don't have one yet, but I've wanted one since I was 15 to 16. Maybe on my next birthday...

Depends on the area of the body you're having it put on. The shoulder shouldn't be too bad - but do consider it - a lot. Think of what it'll look like when you're sixty and whether it'll still even sit in the same spot on your body - gravity can do amazing things!

I put one on my left baby toe when I was 15 because I didn't want to regret having it when I was older. Even at that, I wore a bandaid on that toe for about 4 years whenever I was around the house as my parents would have KILLED me. It didn't hurt at all, but that is a "tough" area.

I'm glad I didn't get it anywhere else - my husband can't stand them - especially on females.

For the ladies, don't get it done on your lower back. The reason for that is because if you have children, you're doing a natural childbirth without a choice. They won't give you an Epederal for the pain if you have a tattoo there.

Somebody should have told Britney that before she allowed herself to be impregnated by the Human Sperm Machine!

Plus they tend to blur and feather as the skin ages. (A girlfriend had "Thumper" done on her breast when she was about 21 - by the time she hit 36 Thumper had the height of Bugs Bunny - by the time she's in her 50s, he should look like Harvey - the 6' imaginary rabbit in the Jimmy Stewart movie).

MSN had a recent article that talked about this and they found the ink of the tatoo doesn't interfere with the epidural after all.

I want to get something with stars. Lindsay Lohan totally stole my idea and got a tiny star on her wrist. That's what I want.
