I love this show! Seriously, I was just watching the Reena/Danny Paquette case on tape and it was pure ecstasy. This is the best show ever. It never ceases to amaze me how well put together the show is.
BTW, what do you all think of the Paquette case? I think the same guy who killed Reena in '64 arranged for Danny's murder 20 years later. Stack said the killer was still in jail, but I think he hired a hitman to take care of Danny. Afterall, Danny knew who killed his mom, and the guy didn't want to face more jail time. |

Ditto.
Its one of those shows that almost every time I rewatch a segment I hear something I didn't notice before. Like this morning with the Roger Wheeler case, the letter he received warning him about if he knew some of the things going on there he wouldn't want to be involved. I don't think I picked up on that before.I have no clue what happened to Danny Paquette. But why would the guy I believe killed his mother arrange to have him killed 20 years later? Was he going to come up for parole or something and was afraid Danny was going to talk? |

I agree! I can watch segments over and over again and never get tired of them, because like Crystaldawn said, there are things you don't notice the first time, and the show, in my opinion was so brilliantly done!

What she said! I've beeen astounded at the excellent production values for this show, over the years. It really sets it apart from other tabloid or documentary programs. As for family members who think my obsession with Unsolved Mysteries is "kooky", well, I just remind them that they were the ones who introduced it to me in the first place!

I agree, I guess that is why we are here discussing cases which can be nearly 20 years old.

If you guys love the show so much as I do then don't you think you should spearhead a movement or try to do something to get new episodes on the air? It just needs to be new stories and it doesn't matter if the show is produced by the same company or it's on a different channel. Obviously I would prefer if Cosgrove/Meuer are the ones who did it but even if they weren't isn't something new better than nothing new at all???

I am certain that, even if the show eventually becomes available for another network, it will never resurface on non-cable primetime. The non-cable networks (especially the "big three": ABC, NBC, and CBS) are more interested in programs that fit their agenda. And regardless of all the good that UM has done, the show doesn't suit them. Sad but true. I pointed out in another post that our best hope would be the creation of a new cable network, one that is sufficently devoted to non-fiction programming, and could therefore be willing to invest in a show like UM. |
