Default can anybody help??

Ok here's the deal. I won an auction on Ebay. AFTER I sent the seller payment I got an email from Ebay telling me not to pay for the auction because you can sell DVD copies of TV shows on Ebay. I emailed the seller and asked him if he received my payment. He didn't reply back. I checked to see if the money order had been cashed. It was, so I emailed him again. He replied back saying that he never got my payment. I got a copy of the cashed money order. He did indeed sign it. He is now writing me and telling me that I can't proove anything and I will not be getting my DVDs. He is also back on Ebay selling things under a different name.

Also, another guy on Ebay contacted me about buying some shows from him outside of Ebay. I took the chance and did it. I did not get my DVDs. What I was wondering is, is there some place I can report these guys too??? I sent the money and did not receive anything. I have the money orders and everything. Thanks for any advice!! jason54467@charter.net

Funny thing is both these guys had over 500 pos. feedback and NO neg!

You should consult the message boards on Ebay on how to proceed.

But in a nutshell, you can't do anything about the off ebay transaction. You went around ebay & therefore, ebay doesn't give a rip (nor do they have an obligation to).

Regarding the NARU seller, I'm guessing his feedback was horrible. Before bidding on anything on ebay, you should thoroughly read the FAQs & message boards & check feedback on the sellers.

I've been buying things on ebay for over 7 years & had great luck with only two transactions going bad. I'm always careful to check the seller's feedback & number of mutual withdrawals. I read any negs/neutrals & check the feedback of the person leaving them, since I realize even the best seller can run into a lunatic every now & then. It's a great place to obtain collectibles. BUT...like anything else, buyer beware.

Buying tv shows off auctions is just a bad idea in general anyway. The worst quality sets, on the worst possible quality media, are what gets sold on auctions sites like eBay. Assuming you don't just get your money stolen.

You should at very least post this person's info online as a scammer.

How long has it been since you paid them? if its been only 2 or 3 weeks, he mihgt just be behind, but if its been months, i woudl do this, email him one last time, telling him 1. i know u r on ebay now with a new user id, and if u dont send my stuf in 4 days and send me a tracking #, then i will notify ebay about the new id (this might get him to send it so that ebay doesnt close him down) and i would also tell him that if he doesnt reply that you will pursue it legally---it might make him worry and he might send the stuff good luck!

but i would send him one more email and type FINAL WARNING! in the message line

Thanks for all the advice. Ebay won't do anything about the auction I won because they kicked him off. They didn't send me an email until 3 days AFTER I won his auction and sent him payment. Is there anywhere I can report these guys to? I sent them money and got nothing in return.

Try this link: http://www.usps.com/websites/depart/inspect/

It's for US Postal Fraud. Not sure if you will get any result out of it, but it's better than doing nothing. Perhaps someone else has an experience using this that they can share?

Good Luck.
