Default So is Darlene with Mark & David with Becky??

Ok, something I never understood about the last episode.I was watching it last night & she said that in reality Mark&Darlene hooked up & Becky&David were married. So my question is David&Darlene never hooked up at all. Also if Jackie was a lesbian all of this time & she told Roseanne that all of her life.... Then I guess Andy & all the men she dated didn't really exist?? Just confused that's all?

If Lecy Goranson chose to stay on as Becky, I really would not have bought the fact that she was married to David because she played Becky One with more of an edge. Sarah Chalke played the character with a little more sweetness. I am still trying to put all the pieces together myself about the finale. Supposedly, things took a turn in season 3. That is when things were overall fictional.

Yeah i didn't buy the 1st Becky with David, but the second I could see, but I don't like the switch anyway, I like them the fictional way.

Me too.. However I sorta thought Darlene&Mark were kinda cute together.. Especially in the last episode Mark asked Darlene to get him a beer & she was like, get it yourself you slob! LOL

Yeah, I was confused too, but it turns out that Roseanne had been writing her book about her "family" but she changed things around. So the family we thought we knew, were fictional. The characters were real, just how we saw them through the seasons was not fact. Dan was dead, Jackie is lesbian, the girls really dated the other brother, etc. Crazy ending.

So who does Andy belong to? Jackie? Did she adopt him or does he really not exist? Was Jerry made up since she never really mentions him in the finale monologue, and who had the baby Harris Conner Healy? Darlene and Mark or Darlene and David or was it Davids and Becky's?

So Dan never fought Fisher? and Jackie never married?

She never mentioned Andy or Jerry.. So I took it that they didn't exist.

Harris Conner Healy was Darlene's and Mark's daughter.. Becky and David were expecting in the last episode.

So Dan never fought Fisher? and Jackie never married?

It looks that way!!

The whole thing was totally convoluted and ridiculous. Because it was all "fictional" Jackie's life throughout the show was BS and the whole storyline with David and Becky attracted to each other never existed because they were actually a couple. It was a bad way to end the show.

I thought that I understood the ending having seen it before, but the more I watch the show in reruns and see the last eps. I really have to wonder.
So many things didnt make since.

The only thing I can think of about Jackie to make it all make since is that Jackie always told Roseanne she was gay but lived in the closet to everyone else. She tried dating and since she was really gay that is why her relationships were solely based on nothing but sex. Maybe she thought if she had lots of sex no one would wonder about her. Maybe that is why Roseanne never really supported Jackie in her relationships. But who am I kidding, the show was not supposed to end this way when it started.
I think Roseanne new that there was no way of explaining the crappy last season so she decided to throw a twist to the show.
At least - Spoiler for Newhart 80's show -

When Bob Newhart did his show and ended it with it all being a dream of his former character, he didnt make the twist to confuse the audience he did it to be funny and all the people and events were a dream.
Roseanne changed everyone around and made things confusing.

Roseanne ended her show with no room for reunions and no imagination if you ask me.

I persoanlly think Becky 2 and David would have made a PERFECT couple, they complement eachothers sensitivity perfectly!

In my mind the last episode was the fiction. I grew up with Roseanne and the characters, so one episode wont change the whole show for me. Dan is still alive, Darlene is with David, Becky with mark, Jackie isnt gay etc etc... But thats whats going on in my Mind. Hahaha.

I try to block out the last episode too. Just hearing that Dan died makes me sad everytime I hear it . Then seeing Roseanne leaving her writing room & sitting on the couch all alone looking at tv is depressing. That was bad way to end the show!

In the very last show, Darlene was really with Mark and Becky was really with David...but Roseanne wrote it differently throughout the shows.

I pretend the ending never happened. As far as I'm concerned, Dan's still alive, Darlene's with David, Becky's with Mark, Jackie is straight, and Bev was gay. Oh, and they did win the lottery.

They could have for sure. To me, Becky #1 would have been too strong for him.
