Default I wonder why James and Florida dropped out of NIGHT SCHOOL?-lol

Just finished watching the Florida goes to school ep and there was never nany continuation after the Tag scene. James and Florida returns from night school saying they enjoyed and then you never heard anything else about. So I guess they lost interest in higher education.lol

I find it odd that James who stopped going to school in the 6th grade decided to get his GED. That's a huge jump, but nonetheless....."power to him".

I wanted to do that to my college degree. After a while you just get frustrated and say-"this degree means nothing"

Wasn't it actually a certificate for some vocation of some sort, not a diploma?

Yes he completed a trade school that he apparently went to OFF CAMERA because it was never mentioned that James was enrolled in a trade school, just that he graduated-lol

James must have been at trade school over the summer of '75 when the article in Ebony came out-LOL

Maybe it was that trade school that landed him a job in Mississippi.

R U Being sarcastic Brian??? I can't remember the episode right now but James was upset because he felt the certificate was worthless to him since he was unable to obtain a job. I am gonna have to search on TV.com and check out the episode guide.

lol-Actually it was the first show of the 3rd season(75-76) titled "A Real Cool Job" where James has just completed trade school but can't find a job anywhere in Chicago. When he does land one it's in Alaska working on the pipeline. If only he'd taken that one instead of the one in Mississippi . . . DAMN DAMN DAMN

oh okay, thanx. That's the episode that upsetted me on another thread because of Florida having second thoughts abt James leaving after Willona opens her big mouth abt the "entertainment" those job camps offer. See Florida, had he gone to Alaska he never would have gone to Mississippi!!!!!!

But if James went to Alaska, Michael would have went astray, Thelma would have gotten pregnant and J.J. would have been arrested for "Finding" things. I actually thought that too, had James went to Alaska, he would have lived longer.

As I stated on another thread, they could've sent James to Alaska instead of killing him off.

Well, James died, and yet, Thelma didn't end up pregnant, JJ didn't get in trouble for "finding" things and Michael stayed the good boy. Sure he had his few moments like the gang thing, but it didn't make a difference. So, had James gone to Alaska, they would still had their dad and they would have had better finances. LOL (it's just a fictional show, but still you can see my point)
