Default The Mack

I saw this movie for the first time last weekend starring Max Julien, Richard Pryor, Roger Mosley. It came out in 1973. I usually don't like watching movies that show blacks as pimps but i wanted to check this out since i like Richard Pryor. Max Julien who was a pimp in the movie was pretty good. I like how he had a change of heart at the end about being a pimp when his mom was killed. He knew that his mom didn't want him to be a pimp & when she died, he decided to do somethin else. Roger Mosley who played on Magnum PI tv show with Tom Selleck was Max's brother in the movie. There was one scene where Roger is talkin to Max saying hey man you really don't understand do you. Don't you realize we need to get rid of the pimps, pushers, prostitutes & then start all over again. That scene was played at the beginning of LL Cool J's Farmers Blvd song on his Mama Said Knock You Out album. That scene is also played at the beginning of Dr Dre's Rat Tat Tat Tat song on Dr Dre's The Chronic album. During that scene Max got mad at Roger when Roger told him that they're brothers & they need to stick together. Max said don't give me that brother s**t because you didn't write me & you didn't come to see me when i was in prison LOL. Max had a small part in How To Be A Player movie with Bill Bellamy & Bernie Mac. He was Bill's uncle in that movie. He also spoke on the skits before most of the songs on How To Be A Player soundtrack.

Like most other 'blaxploitation' movies I've seen, I find this one to be mediocre too - but that's what makes it funny. I'm sorry, but, I don't think Max Julien can act. He seems like he was on a mellow high throughout most of the movie. His acting is hilarious to me.

Remember his "You gotta believe in me baby...I wanna be your lover, your father, your brother...." spiel he was running down to that girl. Dude was all mellow and sh*! (Remember Martin Lawrence imitated him on an episode of his show? LOL)

Richard Pryor was decent in this flick. He was freaking me out when he threated that othe pimp to stab himself. That scene got to me.

Overall, I like the Roger E. Mosley related scenes better than the pimp stuff.

I was surprised Max pulled that white girl too with that corny line saying he wanted to be her lover, brother, father. That was funny when Richard told that guy to stab himself. He said stick yourself, stick yourself, stick yourself LOL. That line Richard said inspired rapper Jadakiss to use that on his album Kiss The Game Goodbye because he has a skit on the album called Stick Yourself. The guy who Richard told to stab himself was LisaRaye's father in The Players Club movie. He was also Denzel Washington's father in Mo Better Blues movie. His name is Dick Anthony Williams. LOL@any parent who names their son dick hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Dick's name was Pretty Tony in The Mack. Rapper Ghostface Killah of Wu Tang Clan called his solo album last year Pretty Tony. There was a scene in The Mack when Max told Dick, you know the rules, your b**ch chose me LOL. Now we can handle it like gentlemen or get into some gangsta s**t LOL. There's a skit on Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle album where Snoop is about to get into a fight with some dude over a woman & Snoop says that same line that Max said from the movie. This movie inspired a lot of rappers to be pimps like Too Short, Snoop Dogg, Suga Free, Dru Down. Too Short says on his song I Ain't Nothin But A Dog that i been a dog ever since i was young, i saw The Mack & got oh so sprung. I couldn't help it. I had to be just like that with a staple of hoes & my pockets fat but don't trip. I made up my mind when i was 17. I ain't with no marriage & a wedding ring. I'll be a player for life. Forget about a wife. She just ain't my type cause i'll mack each ho & get richer & if it ain't like that, then i'll forget you LOL. I don't know why so many rappers talk about pimpin women. There is nothin cool about pimpin & exploiting women.

True dat. That ***** ain't cool. That's why I thoroughly dispise anything that glorifies these creeps. My father and my oldest bro work security @ hotel/casinos and they were talking about pimps this past weekend, as a matter of fact. They said that some actually kidnap girls and force them into prostitution.

I be hearing & seeing pimps like Magic Don Juan & Pimpin Ken in rappers videos & on rappers albums. It's pathetic. Did you see all those pimps in 50 Cent & Snoop Dogg's P.I.M.P. video? Pimpin got Snoop into trouble with his marriage because his wife had left him for a minute because of the groupies he would deal with. I saw his wife on the cover of black magazine Sister 2 Sister recently talkin about why she got back with him & how she got tired of the groupies he was messing with. Men are a trip when it comes to women. Men act like they've never seen a woman in their life. I've seen men damn near drool & stare when they see a attractive woman walk past them. Black men are the worst when it comes to black women because they will stare & stare at a woman they think is fine & has a nice body. I've had several men talk to me about my supervisor who is a young attractive black woman. Everytime i go into a store for my cigarette job, the men employees always gotta ask me about my supervisor & they ask me the same question about when is she getting married when i've already told them the answer millions of times LOL. My supervisor is very attractive. I was workin with her yesterday & i was lookin at her several times myself because of the sexy outfit she had on LOL. She does have a nice body & she got nice feet. She had on some flip flops yesterday & she's worn those shoes before when i've worked with her other times. I'm a feet man so i like lookin at black women's feet because i like to massage them. I've never stared hard at a woman though & i don't harrass women because i feel like there's more to life than mackin, pimpin & sex. My conversations aren't always about sex & women either. It's so pitiful to hear black men talk about women the way they do. I've had plenty of jobs where i've worked with ignorant black men & all they can seem to talk about is sex & women like there's nothin else to talk about.

Sorry bro, I don't watch music videos anymore. I'll just say I don't approve of the 'ho quotient' in these rap videos. lol

But I see what you say about some black males. The young'uns especially don't know how to step to a lady. What I really want to say when a brutha says something (usually stupid) to me is "Gitcho' ignorant ass away from me!" But since people are more crazy now more than ever, I politely say I have a boyfriend and such or I look at them funny. As far as being stared down, I can deal with that but don't talk me! That's far more uncomfortable to me than being ogled.
Believe it or not, I find some sistas more...how shall I say this... 'explicit' than brothas.

It's really pitiful how some black women will do anything for money especially these women that are in the rap videos. Nelly slid a credit card through the crack of a woman's ass in his Tip Drill video. Now how disgusting is that? It's even more disgusting that the woman let him do it. It's also pathetic that women strip & dance half naked at strip clubs & men are some suckers to throw their money at them. I wouldn't give them women nothin LOL. The men who will pay a woman to have sex with them or do sexual favors are even more pathetic because they're so lame, they can't even get a girl with their conversation so they have to pay to get pleased sexually. Pimps wouldn't even make any money if it wasn't for the women. Women are dummies to give a pimp money when the women are the ones who have to have sex with men for money. I know a white girl who's a whore & she would rather have sex with men for money than get a job. She told me she was going to school to be a electrician but i don't believe that because i see her ass sittin by this gas station damn near everyday waitin on a man to pick her up so she can get paid to do whatever to a man. She also used to be married & she told me she was doing what she had to to make money because her ex husband wasn't making enough money workin at a auto parts store. I was saying to myself, her dumb ass need to get a job then & stop depending on him. She has kids by him. What kind of example is she setting for her kids? I just don't understand how a woman can sell her body for money & be dealing with any kind of man. Women that do that obviously don't care about their life because doing a profession like that, you meet all types of weird men & any of those men can kill you if they feel like it.

Excuse me while I... *wipes chin*

What did that credit card do to be treated like that?

Nothing to add here. I agree with every point you made.

I've never seen The Mack in its entirety. From the clips I've seen of it, it looked good. I am a big fan of blaxploitation movies. My favorite is Coffy with Pam Grier.
