Default Have you ever met one of your fav actors in person?

Have you ever met, or saw one of your fav sitcom actors in person?

I almost met "Mr Belding" at a party last year. He walked by me, and he looked cool and approachable like he would not have minded props and a picture, but for the life of me, I could NOT remember his real name...and I did not want to call him Mr Belding. So I'm kicking myself like, OMG what is his name?? About 10 secs after he was out of site, I had a Mulva/Delores moment...Dennis!! But it was too late.

I also saw the chubby bug-eyed dude from What's Happenin Now!. But I just chuckled and kept walking.

Gob: There's not a lot of logic to it. It's kind of like on a boat with "Women and children first." I mean, why should they -

I met all the stars in my signature. My sister actually had a full conversation with Wyonna Judd.

I didn't meet any of these people, but at various "Star Trek" conventions I saw James Doohan (Scotty), Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), Brent Spinner (Data), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), and William Shatner and Leanord Nimoy (Kirk & Spock-they were on stage together). Oh yea, and I almost saw Johnathon Frakkes (William Riker).

I've met Valerie Harper (Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore Show) several times. She's really sweet. I have pics and scans of my autographs at my site: http://www.geocities.com/tv_person/Valerie.html

OMG....if you see Kirstie again in October, you HAVE to get her autograph for me. I LOOOOOVE KIRSTIE.

---------

Anyway, I've met Vicki Lawrence (The Carol Burnett Show, Mama's Family, Vicki!, etc) twice already. I met her in 2003 and again in 2004. If things go well, I might meet her for a 3rd time in 2 1/2 weeks.

Many years ago, I almost met Suzanne Somers. I was close enough to get a good view of her but I wasn't allowed to get any closer. Let me explain:

It was the spring of 1979 and my Grade 8 class was at the end of a field trip. We were walking through downtown Toronto when I noticed that there was a fairly sizeable crowd gathered only a few feet from where my class was walking. It didn't take us long to realize that Suzanne Somers, who was at the height of her "Three's Company" fame then and was in Toronto to shoot a TV-movie, was within reach of my very eyes. Gathering up what little courage I mustered back then, I approached my teacher to see if there was any chance that she could bring us down to see Ms. Somers in person and maybe even say 'Hi' to her and give her a little wave. Her reply will go down in infamy, at least as far as I'm concerned. She said words to the effect of "Well, maybe if it was somebody more important, like the Prime Minister of Canada". Somebody more important? This was only the biggest star on the most popular TV series in North America. Who else would you expect, Elvis? Oh, how cruel fate can be sometimes!

I haven't met anyone.

Although yesterday my brother bumped into Adam Sandler at work, and earlier this year Jerry Seinfeld was behind my uncle in line at Borders.

from Star Trek I've met James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Majel Barrett, Rene Auberjoinois, Ethan Phillips, Armin Shimmerman, and Michael Dorn. I've seen in person Shatner, Nimoy, Deforest Kelly, Kate Mulgrew, and Robert Picardo.

from other things, I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Bob Newhart and Don Rickles when I was in LA 2 years ago. As for people I've seen in person, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Tim Allen, and Jay Leno.
