was this filmed in the same studio as Golden Girls. i mean when i saw the house in the 1st episode, it looks very diffrent. even tho it had no furniture but still. and another thing, doesnt the lighting look diffrent as well?? hahah i was just nick picking, but anyone else caught this??

I noticed they used a different house for the outside! But the scenes inside still looked pretty much the same to me. Maybe it was the lighting.

The GP was on CBS while GG was on NBC. Generally whenever a sitcom ends, the network destroys the sets and rebuilds them for newer shows. CBS may have had to re-construct the living room scene after NBC cancelled the GG. Don't quote me on this though. Maybe the networks had an agreement to use the set for one episode...who knows.

Although the show changed networks, that doesn't mean that they filmed at a different STUDIO. Both Golden Girls and Golden Palace were filmed at Ren-Mar Studios. The decision to do the Golden Palace was decided before the Golden Girls ended, so the set didn't need to be taken down completely until the end of the first episode of the Golden Girls.
