Those of us who are familiar with this case seemed to think that this was one of the ones that aired only on NBC. At least thats what I thought. I recently acquired some complete episodes that were taped off of Lifetime in the early 90's and was suprised to find the Eva Shoen case on there! Not only that there was an update to it that I had never seen. They showed a picture of the man who was ultimately convicted and said after the second airing of the story (so it apparently aired at least 3 times) I believe his brother-in-law called in and said he believed he was the murderer. They even had footage of him being led from the courtroom in handcuffs. So apparently UM did have a hand in catching her killer. They said police believe it was a botched rape and robbery attempt. They did say some Shoen family members were still not convinced and there was still a large award for further information.

Actually a drifter was convicted of the crime in 1993, no connection with the family.
