ok but do you know what state the munsters lived in?

The Munsters didn't live in a particular state. Early publicity things on the show said they lived at 43 Mockingbird Lane, Camelot, New Jersey. But on the show it was always said 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Mockingbird Heights.

I always assumed that they lived in Mockingbird Heights, California.
If you look closely at the rear end of the Munster Koach, you'll notice what looks like a black license plate with yellow letters- that's a 1960's California plate.

The Munsters were created by Leave It To Beaver writers Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher. They did the very same thing as they did with Leave It To Beaver, not reveal the state in which the town was located. The reasons as to why this was done are unclear. Probably because it was just a fictional town in a fictional setting. If there really was a Mockingbird Heights, or a Mayfield in a particular state that was chosen as the shows location, then that town in that state would be declared as the official home of that show, and they did not want that.
