I like the other roast dinners, where the guest of honor sits there while his friends get up and tell jokes about him.
We did one for a friend last year, and it was hysterical.

You held a roast and didn't have roast for dinner? A missed opportunity!

There wasn't much eating involved. Mostly drinking.

Okay, all drinking.

So basically a typical TJL evening of fun and laughter!

(actually, once I start drinking, the last thing I want to do is eat - totally lose my appetite).

Same here, only my mother always made mashed potatoes. Both my parents were Irish, so I grew up on meat and potato dinners.

You know Cathie...I *think* it's possible that you and I could cook them too. As soon as I get directions on how to operate my stove, I'll let you know. First, of course, you have to locate the stove.

A crazy concept, but it just may work.

My sister has a pig roast at her house every summer. I remember being grossed out by it at first but now I think they're very good.
