Anyone else here NOT have a cell phone? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I'm probably the only person left who still doesn't have one either. I don't really want one either. 1) I never call anybody on my regular phone, nor does anyone ever call me (I do get calls but it's rare). 2) I don't like talking on the phone period- I'm like scared of talking to people, even if I know them, and I'm afraid to answer the phone. 3) I never go anywhere really (except for work and a few places). Most of the time I'm home so people can reach me at my home phone. I know sooner or later I'm going to need one before I really want one!

Well I didn't get one until I was 18. I went off to college and was never in my dorm, so no one could ever reach me.

I have no one to call, so I dont need one. I had one, but it broke. Not that I really cared.

I have one, so my dad can keep up w/ me at all times.

Thing is, he never calls me - I call him.

I have one but the only person who calls me is my mother. Seriously, all of my recent calls say "Home, mom's work, mom's cell.." Other than that, I dont get phone calls.

I don't. I don't really feel the need for one. If I need to use one I can just borrow someone elses. (I don't have to do this that often)

I got my first cell phone in June. Before that, I didn't need, nor want one. But, when I moved into my apartment, I chose to get it so I didn't have to pay for an in-home phoneline. I'm rarely home, anyway.

Kindof ot, but texting someone is nifty. Especially if you don't feel like carrying on a full conversation w/ them.

For the longest time, my mom, my sister, and I have shared ONLY two phones among the three of us. My sister is the more sociable one than me (phone calls from friends, dates, etc), and we all agreed to give one to my mom since she's always riding the bus. I was the only one without a phone. Then it got to the point where I was online A LOT with dialup internet (yes, through the old phone line), and I couldn't stay on for too long because of phone calls. I decided to become independence and add another line in our existing family plan. I JUST got my own cellphone this past May, so it hasn't been too long ago.

I don't even really get that many calls, anyway. Only my mom, sister, and co-worker friends are the only ones who call me. Not many others apart from that. I just have it more as an "emergency" thing, I guess. Plus, it serves purpose now that I am getting my own apartment in 11 days.
