The episode "Herman's Peace Offering" from the second (1965/66) season of MUNSTERS was NOT shown on the Halloween weekend marathon of MUNSTERS on TV-Land.
It's original CBS-TV Network airdate was on 30-Dec-1965, and the 53rd "new" (non-rerun) episode originally telecast on the CBS-TV Network back in the mid-1960's. TV-Land would also refer to this episode as Munsters episode #53... MCA/Revue/Universal refers to this Munsters episode as #27021 in their records. #53 / #27021, "Herman's Peace Offering" SHOULD air on TV-Land's "Twice-as-Nice-weekday-mornings" as one of the episodes on Tuesday 31-Oct-2000, but again they SKIP OVER that episode. 69 of the total 70 episodes of MUNSTERS were shown on the Sat/Sun 28/29 Oct 2000 weekend marathon, a few were aired TWICE. There were 98 half-hour slots in this past weekend's TVLand marathon - usually there are only 96 half-hour-slots (48-hours) but because the clocks changed from Daylite to Standard over this past weekend, there was that extra hour. The (McFarland Press) "Sitcom book" indicates the episode "Herman's Peace Offering" as being "Herman and Eddie are taunted by bullies". Does anyone know why TV-Land has 'skipped over' this episode? Have any of the Turner Channels or local VHF/UHF stations ever aired this episode recently? Thanks! Mark J. Cuccia mcuccia@tulane.edu |

I heard the reason TV Land didn't show Ep. 53 of The Munsters is because Herman is encouraging Eddie to fight a bully.

I've got a solution for all episodes that are too controversial to be shown on Nick or TV Land. Since both networks are owned by the MTV Group, why not air them on MTV? Given the flood of sex, violence, hate, and drugs messages that are glorified in today's music videos, these episodes wouldn't offend anyone. Just tired of Nick/TV Land's petty excuses for not airing all the episodes.
