Default More Stuff Noticed

1) Tonight I watched "Birds Gotta Fly, Fish Gotta Talk" from Season 1 and I was really impressed how they combined the pilot with new footage so that it looked like it all happened with the series cast. There is one place where you can see John Gabriel as the Professor-----when Gilligan snags the transmitter with his fishing line and casts it into the ocean, the Skipper and the Professor run down to the beach where he is. The beach scene is from the pilot and you only see the Professor from the back, so it's easy to assume it's Russell Johnson unless you're looking closely!
(of course, you can also see the pilot cast for a brief second when the Skipper first wakes up after the shipwreck, but the "on-screen factoids" on "Two on a Raft" pointed that one out for us.)

2) In "Pass the Vegetables Please" Gilligan's favorite is spinach, but in "Lovey's Secret Admirer" he says "I like spinach" while connected to the lie detector and the horn goes off signifying that he's lying.

Well, it is just a TV show. The directors were bound to miss a detail every now and then.

Ahh, but clearly Gilligan loves spinach. This dialogue from the episode shows what I mean.

GILLIGAN: Skipper, pass the spinach please.
SKIPPER: Oh Gilligan that's the forth helping of spinach you've had.
GILLIGAN: Sixth, I snuck two.

Of course anyone making any show is going to miss some details, but noticing them is fun.

1) This would also account for seeing Russell Johnson wearing dark pants in the 1st season ending credits; so they match up with the dark pants that John Gabriel had worn.

2) How's this for a possible explanation?

After his ordeal with the radioactive spinach, Gilligan does a 180 and no longer loves spinach.

I had thought of that because he had to eat soap. But by the end of the episode he was enjoying the soap as well.
