Default Why do they have Dan & Roseanne always eating??

I'm not trying to be mean but.. it seems like they were always eating & alot of junk stuff too & after watching it alot, it gets kind of sickening. This is just my opinion.I like Dan & Roseanne however, you can't hardly ever see an episode without them chowing down on something! Alot of the times it makes me hungry too, especially when I don't have anything in the house.

Haha, Their is eating in almost every episode because of the opening credits... anyways i think they did that to prove a point, you don't have to be skinny and hot to be on tv...

Also, didn't it seem that as each plastic surgery she had done to her face, it seemed as if her character was more mean, serious and even when she was trying to be funny or making a joke, her face just had that serious look on it? I loved her old face where she would be smiling and/or laughing while being funny.

Oh, she had plastic surgery, I always thought she looked different as the years passed. You can see a huge differences with Dan & Roseanne with different seasons. They seemed to lose alot of weight one season, pick it up another, then lose it again!Roseanne lost alot of it when the show ended, plus I thought she actually looked more attractive in the last seasons. She was a pretty lady when the show first started personally to me..

There is a particular season after one of her plastic surgeries where she had this caved-in look on her facial cheeks. It also looked like someone put dark blush on them. I always see these two dark thick lines on them in particular episodes, actually, alot of episodes.

I think them eating was supposed to be part of the homeyness and warmness of the show. I don't think they ate a lot. I think they did a lot of scenes centered around them eating meals. In fact, you don't see them snacking a lot. And, I never thought of them as sitting around eating a lot of junk food. Maybe some of their meals were unhealthy, but I didn't think it was anything over the top. They bought potato chips a lot, but you didn't see them like sitting around snacking on potato chips every day.

I'm glad she had the surgery she looked much better. I do agree on the hominess of them eating. They were acting like a regular type family. Not a Jack Lalane family.

The kitchen was the center of the family's socializing and they had one of the most realistic kitchens depicted on TV. Dan and Roseanne were obese for a reason: they ate, snacked, drank beer, worked like dogs and didn't exercise. Many jokes stemmed from that.

I think they tried to show the Conners as an average family struggling like many of us. Poor habits and hard times are more common than the doctor/lawyer wear-an-outfit-once household shown on the Cosby Show.
