Hi there
a word to the wise 1. If you get a warning like that, DO NOT relist the item and lay low 2. NEVER mess with Disney! Disney and HBO are 2 that really keep an eye out on ebay for stuff like that, it is rare, but sometimes people do get sued over stuff like that, most liekly a fine of a few thousand $s is what happens, but dont mess with it, there is so much old stuff out there that noone cares about, so i recommend, never, never ever, never do Disney stuff on ebay! If it were me, I would close that ebay account and email address associated with it, and then do not relist that item again, to be careful, they might not do anything, but you never know! |

No offense, but I can't believe you are selling bootleged DVDs on ebay in the first place. I have heard of so many people getting fined big time that it is not even worth the money. I would be scared to do this

At any given time they are TONS of collector copies on ebay, 99% of the sellers will never have an issue---
GENERALLY most action is taken over A) Bootlegged copies of legit releases (for example a burned copy of a movie that just came out for real) or B) Bootleg copies of new movies still in theatres or not released on dvd/vhs yet. 99% of sellers of collector to collector copies of old tv shows and rare movies that have not been officially released will have no issues--_BUT EVEN THEN, there are times when someone does go after you, and I have seen that most of the time Disney and HBO are most likely to make an issue. So if you do sell, avoid Disney and HBO items and try to use some common sense... I mean you are more likely to have problems with a recent show that might come out on dvd in the near future, than an old show from the 50s that will never see an official release. Just be careful out there...

I've heard that Abbott and Costello shows/movies should also be avoided.
I once tried selling an almost complete set of Leave it to Beaver (videos) on ebay. I was informed by eBay that if I tried that again I would be banned. |

u know it makes me so mad they get mad at people for bootlegging. now its one thing if u are making tons of money but the fact is that they just sit on all our favorite shows it takes them so long to release them or they dont at all. this board wouldnt even be neccesarry if dvd companys cared about the consumer look at all the pettions to get shows on dvd that go unanswered by disney and the such
