IMO Kimberly wasn't essential but they had to have a variety of personalties for a true college atmosphere.

Hi Zion's Mother!! I could not stand Lisa Bonet on the show. I watched it after she was no longer on the show. And also that character played by Marisa Tomei. Seems like Bill Cosby was trying to be politically correct in having a white student. I loved the show the way it ended up being, all black characters attending an all black university. I really like when Jada Pinkett was added.

Yeah Denise just didn't fit into the cast, that's why the first season sucked. And plus the second season they got Debbie Allen to direct and produce so it got sooooooooooooo much better.

Millie was the worst character. Marisa Tomei was appealing, more so than Denise or Jaleesa- how come she never starred in a series? She certainly has more going on than Lisa Bonet.

Of the guy characters Dorian was an irritant. Although they cast him as the cool one and Terrell as the not so with it guy, Terrell was actually more likeable.

I don't think that it was Denise. It was Anne Beatts. After she left, Debbie Allen took over and gave it a makeover. The show would have worked whether Lisa Left or not. She was great in the 1989 ep when Dwayne came to visit her in Brooklyn. Anne Beatts had the cast doing "Square Peg" antics. The first season pale beginning was not due to Lisa. She simply played Denise Huxtable like she did on "Cosby". Ms. Beatts had them doing eps about eggbys and pig noses vs. Debbie and AIDS and the Persian Gulf.

i also couldn't stand the teacher/lady in charge played by Mary Alice. I never like that actress to begin with and she was annoying as hell on here.

My least favorites were Charmaine(Pam's friend on The Cosby Show) and any of the resident corm directors cause there was no point for them to be there!
