Default Well what does everyone think of Golden Palace??

Well I just got through watching it. The episode I watched was ok. Even though there was no Dorothy, it was pretty fun to watch since I've never seen Golden Palace so everything is sort of like new episodes for me. It seemed like they made Rose dumber so far on this show. LOL at the guy with the ski mask & the gun & Rose thought he just had the mask on for a fashion statement lol!

IMO, I think Rose is a bit smarter in this season. You have to admit it. She managed to get the guy in the ski mask out of the hotel but neglected to dial 9 but instead she dials 4 which still makes for great comedy. I loved how she said. "Who's this? Just a woman whose not as stupid as everyone thinks she is." Then the audience is cheering.

Rose became a stronger character. She definitely began insulting Blanche and Sophia more and was bit a more responsible.

Special Treat Spoiler for those of you that have not seen the eps with Bea Arthur yet.

Hopefully BV will see that there is a market for GP and put it on DVD. In the meantime, I'm taping the episodes and after they finish airing them, I'll transfer everything over to DVD.

And in response to this thread, I very much enjoyed that episode! I was 7 years old when GP was originally on, so I had vague memories of it. My mom was a huge GG fan, so she watched GP and I remember watching it with her.

I loved the part where Blanche was talking to the pool guy and Sophia kept walking by and saying, "Tramp." ... "Slut."

I have 22 of 24 eps on VHS. I am only missing two from the original run and hopefully I can get these two shows from Lifetime. I did not know this until I read my Entertainment Magazine and they rated the show a "C" I was shocked to find out about them airing it.

I think the producers and writers gave Rose a lot of Dorothy's traits in The Golden Palace. In my opinion, it just didn't work for her.

Do they show the past when Rose says that she wishes Dorothy were to beat the crap out of Blanche? In response to the poster above, I loved to see the nastier side of Rose. It was good to see her being more active than passive. I really loved it when Rose hit Dorothy with the newspaper!

I loved it... really. The only thing I could have done without is Billy Sullivan. He annoyed me -- too much overacting.

I'm anxious to see how it does in the ratings. I bet it will be big for Lifetime.

One thing... do we ever see the part-time housekeeper in any of the episodes? He/she was mentioned, but I'm just curious for the future.

jayman, Billy Sullivan will be gone by Dorothy's visit then will resurface one more time for the purpose of storyline closure. They axed his character and sent him to live with his mother.

I can not believe they chopped Rose's 911/411 call. That is probably one of THE funniest Golden Palace moments. I mean, couldn't the editors tell when the audience breaks out in a cheer how fantastic it is. There was a lot snipped from the show; glad they are at least showing the END TAG scenes and not just showing credits, although they are doing the half credit thing.

Glad I taped these when they first aired, because syndicated versions really bother me. Hopefully they might make their way out on DVD.

I thought the show was really funny! All of the episodes so far have been good in my opinion.

I can't believe it didn't do well when it originally aired... just my 2 cents! hehe

Well, I was about 15 when it was on. The ratings were average to highly below average meaning that it did draw an audience, but not as big as the one on NBC. Also keep in mind that this show was on Friday Nights at 8pm,
