I noticed something very funny in a TV book.
I looked at Fall 1977 schedule for Wednesday at 8 PM. The 8 pm hour was Good Times and Busting Loose. Here's a funny part.......... In the 1987/88 season, Jimmie Walker starred in Bustin' Loose, a syndication comedy.

I think the network was trying to capitalize on Walker's popularity.

Bustin Loose synopsis:
Following his graduation from engineering school, 24-year-old slacker Lenny Markowitz moves into his own rundown apartment (his first time away from home), and next door to a gorgeous older redhead (Melody). Ignoring his engineering background, he goes to work at a shoe store owned by Cabell and staffed by jive-talking Raymond. He also finds time to play poker and get into trouble with his childhood pals. |

Yeah, I'm like Brian - had heard of it, but never watched and never knew Jimmy tried for a comeback with it.
Now he's a "celebrity" judge on Animal Planet's Pet Star!

There was a Busting Loose show in the 1970's, but it is NOT the one with JJ on it.
The "Bustin' Loose" that J.J. was on in the 1980's was based on the 1981 Richard Pryor movie of the same name. A paroled criminal ends up being a bus driver and a confidant to a number of special kids and their no-nonsense teacher. I remember seeing a promo for it on USA Network where he and the kids are in the carnival picture taker thing and they are crowding him out, the teacher comes in and chastises him, but he tells them all of smile and the announcer says "Catch Bustin Loose on USA. |
