Default Henry Evans (Maude) & James Evans (Good Times)

John Amos played them both on Maude and Good Times

my question - do u feel like that Henry was the same character on Good Times as James?

The only differance was the name change of the first name.

The only big difference, is Henry had a steady job. (a fireman) while James worked two or three jobs at a time just to make ends meat.

It may be similar to David Banner in The Hulk. For years, in the original Marvel Comics, he was Bruce Banner, then suddenly David Banner in the television version... then it was said he was David Bruce Banner.

Perhaps he's Henry James Evans... or James Henry Evans.

This always confused me too. It was the same guy Florida and Henry-James. Also how did they get from NYC to Chicago. Does anyone remember after John Amos left the show there was an episode were a few firefighters uncredited in gear came into the apartment and one of them was John Amos. Anybody?

I am not an expert on this show so I could not tell you an exact episode or airdate. I recall it was not long after he left the show. Also I understand the living members I believe only Esther Rolle is deceased are in the process or negotiating a movie. It would feature the originals. John Amos James was killed in a car accident so how would that shake out.

The two shows are not connected. GT was based in Chicago because it was developed by Eric Monte and based on his life growing up in the 60's

So it's no need to wonder how the Evans got to chicago because the two shows are not connected like the ones below

All in the Family.......Maude

All in the Family.........The Jeffersons

The Jeffersons.........Checking In

All in the Family.............Gloria
