Default Julie leaving Baby Annie and Max

Why did Julie leave Max and Baby Annie? Was it because of Mackenzie Phillips' drug problems, so they wrote that idea into the script when they fired her? What was the reason the scriptwriters gave Julie for ruunning off? Another man?

In this day and age Max would be suing Julie for deserting the family. He probably knew he wouldn't get anything much out of her.

Exactly. Mackenzie returned to the show after her initial departure, but after a while it became apparent she still had or had fallen back upon her bad habits and the producers had to hastily write her out. I forget the exact reason why the character left, but I do remember it being a typical whiny Julie excuse. That girl couldn't deal with reality.

I think Ann needed to get Julie to a shrink. Julie had some loose marbles rattling around inside her head, but I guess that is what made her the most interesting character. The troublemakers are always the best!

They should've let Max and the baby leave as well to protect the character.

I never really like Max anyway and I hated Mark even worse! They could've had them die a fiery death in a plane crash, and I wouldn't have cared. I wish the girls would've just divorced them. I always hate when important characters get married or get involved with an irritating long standing boyfriend or girlfriend on a show.

I hated Alex the most. He is still the worst character on any sitcom. No, wait. Joey Lawrence on Gimme a Break is!!

Alex should have been sent off with Happy Days' Chachi to a remote desert island where they'd spend the rest of their days annoying each other.

Max should have taken baby Annie to Texas to be near his immediate family.

Awww no !! I disagree! I think it would have bean really sad taking her away from her Grandma, and Great Grandma , Auntie Barbara , Uncle Mark and even Schneider loved Annie ! Plus Max really liked his job at the Travel agency !

Ann was moving to London so she wouldn't have been around for the baby anyway.
