Oh so am I.
I am a fan of Norman Lear sitcoms and when I read about Maude, I was looking forever for it. I wrote a persuasive letter to a Chicago television station on why they should air it and why people ould like to see it again. It was my goal for the year. 6 months Later Maude was on their schedule. |

I really miss Maude!! I used to wake up at 4:30 am here on the West Coast to catch it when it was on TVLand's schedule.
TVLand rarely plays it anymore,,and when they do occasionally show a block it is the same 3 or 4 eps over and over. |

I just LOVE Maude! I think it is the funniest show EVER. I have a number of episodes I taped when it was on TV land a few years ago, and I watch them over & over, and STILL laugh. It really is one of the great sitcoms, and I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves. Bottom line, it is so darn FUNNY.

I am old enough to remember Maude when it was in first run on CBS. I was just a kid, but still loved the show.
After it was cancelled, it ran in reruns for about a year on a local station. Then I waited nearly 20 years for it to come back on. So when TV Land starting airing it in August of 1999, I taped every single episode. Now that it's gone again, I'm very glad I did. TV Land edited the shows a bit more than I would like, so I'm hoping they will release Maude on DVD as they have with All in the Family, Good Times, Sanford and Son, and The Jeffersons. They are all Lear sitcoms from the 70's as Maude was. Anyone know where to write/e-mail to encourage a DVD release of Maude? |

Yep, Sony Pictures (Columbia House) is conducting a survey to see which shows we would like on DVD. Maude being one of the shows to pick from. The link is below: http://www.sonypictures.com/cthe/tv/poll/ They are asking for voters to pick five shows on either "best of" sets or "season" sets, in which voters would like to see it be released in. |

Impressions : Thanks for the link. I casted my vote for Maude. I hope all Maude fans reading this will vote as well. These DVD box sets sell for $20 - $25,
but you get an entire season of shows for that price, and they are all unedited/uncut. RWCTV : I switch off between my Maude tapes and my Golden Girls tapes (taped them off of a local station, then retaped them from Lifetime as they were edited less). I think Bea Arthur is the funniest lady on television. She just cracks me up. Lifetime recently aired a profile of her, did you see it? RJ |
